R~embers present at 7:30 P.M. were Commissioners Max H. Straw, <br /> Philip B. Parsons, Secretary, Ruth G. Bevan and George E. Graves and <br /> Associate Commissioner Franklin C. Hudson. Due to the inability of <br /> Commissioner Wilbur i.'[. Jaquith, Chairman to serve on the first petition, <br /> upon motion duly made and seconded it was Voted that Commissioner IvIax H. <br /> Straw serve as Chairman, Pro Tempore. <br /> Ilcaring vr~ held at 7;30 P.i!.![. on the application of Craft Real <br /> Estate Trust for a Certificate of Appropriateness with respect to <br /> changes in the exterior architectural features of the building at 1707 <br /> P,Rassrachusetts Avenue, which is within the. Battle Green District. The <br /> Chairman, Pro Tempore read the letter of application and the Notice of <br /> rearing. Miss Agnes Bongiorno, Mr. Louis Bongiorno and Mr. Bix Shoe- <br /> maker appeared.TVIr. Shoemaker presented to the Commission samples of <br /> vinyl siding, samples of fiber glass simulated stone and photographs of <br /> the building. No other persons having appeared the hearing was closed <br /> at 8:00 P.M. After discussion, upon motion du ly made and seconded it <br /> was unanimously VOTED to issue a Certificate to the applicant. <br /> Hearing was held at 8:15 P.1!:I. on the application of George E., Jr. <br /> and Patricia M. Rowe for a Certificate of Appropriateness with respect <br /> to the installation of aluminum siding and aluminum shutters on the <br /> residence at 25 Bedford Street, which is within the Battle Green Dis- <br /> trict. The Chairman, Pro Tempore read the letter of application and <br /> the Notice of hearing. Mr. Rowe appeared with Mr. Bix Shoemaker and <br /> presented to the Commission photographs of the dwelling and a brochure <br /> picturing the type of siding to be installed. N'o other persons having <br /> appeared, the hearing was closed at 8;35 P.M. After discussion, upon <br /> motion duly made and seconded, it was unanimously VOTED to issue a <br /> Certificate to the applicant. <br /> At this time Commissioner Wilbur Nt. Jaquith, Chairman and Asso- <br /> ciate Commissioners George W. Emery and Gladys M. Moore joined the <br /> meeting. Chairman Jaquith reviewed the factual background pertaining <br /> to the application of the First Parish Church , filed October 10, 1966, <br /> for a Certificate of Appropriateness for the building proposed to be <br /> erected on land adjoining the Church property. He pointed out that <br /> subeequent to the hearing on November 9, 1966 the Commission, pursuant <br /> to vote, had requested the First Parish Church Building Committee to <br /> submit new plans which was done, that the Commission mat with the Com- <br /> mittee on four occasions following the hearing, but that there had been <br /> no a_npeurance before the Commission since February 1, 1967. He said <br /> that in September, 1968 he requested P,2r. riay, the Attorney for the <br /> Church, to withdraw the application before the current extension of <br /> <br />
