MINUTES OF ADJOURNED R9EETING HELD ON JUNE 19, 1968 <br /> The Lexington Historic Districts Commission held an adjourned <br /> <br /> meeting on Wednesday, June 19, 1968,. in the Selectmen~s Room, Town <br /> Office Building. Members present were Commissioners Wilbur M. <br /> Jaquith, Chairman, Philip B. Parsons, Secretary, Ruth G. Bevan, <br /> George E. Graves and Max H. Straw and Associate Commissioner George <br /> iN. Emery, <br /> Adjourned hearing was held at 7:30 P.M. on the application of <br /> RHD Realty and Development Company with respect to the erection and <br /> display of a sign for the Battle Green Inn on the building at 26-32 <br /> ~Naltham Street, which is within the Battle Green District. Mr. David <br /> Pierce, Manager of the Inn, and Mr. Priest of Astro Signs appeared and <br /> <br /> :presented corrected scale drawings of the proposed sign. After dis- <br /> cussion, upon motion duly made and seconded, it was unanimously VOTED <br /> to issue a'Certificate to the applicant. No other persons having <br /> appeared the adjourned hearing was closed at 7;50 P.M. After the re- <br /> tirement of the applicant the Chairman inf ormed the Commission that <br /> the question whether the sign proposed by the Battle Green Inn to be <br /> erected on the southwesterly corner at 26-32 lYaltham Street would be <br /> permitted without Board of Appeals approval was discussed b y the Chair- <br /> man with the Building Inspector, who in turn discussed it with the <br /> Chairman of the Board of Appeals. The Building Inspector reported to <br /> the Chairman of the Commission that the Chairman of the Board of Appeals <br /> stated that they w ould consider the Spencer parking lot as being avail- <br /> able for public use under the Sign By-Law and that Board of Appeals <br /> approval would not be required. <br /> ~t 8:00 P.M. the Commission discussed and acted upon the applica- <br /> tion of 'Nilliam P, and M. Csrol Henealy with respect to changes in the <br /> existing dwelling and an addition to said dwelling at 7 Hancock Avenue, <br /> which is within the Hancock-Clarke District. Formal hearing for a <br /> Certificate of Appropriateness was held at 10:.50 P.M., on t~ednesday, <br /> June 12, 1968. Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was unanimously <br /> VOTED at this time to issue a Certificate to the applicant. <br /> Adjourned hearing was held at 9x25 P.M. on the application of <br /> Robert 0. Tillinghast for a Certificate of Appropriateness with respect <br /> to restoration of the existing dwelling at 465 Massachusetts Avenue, <br /> which is within the East Village District. Upon motion duly made and <br /> seconded it was unanimously VOTED to issue a Certificate to the appli- <br /> cant with respect to the addition of two windows on the first floor <br /> of the westerly elevation of the dwelling. The Chairman informed the <br /> Commission that the applicant is forwarding to him a brochure picturing <br /> combination storm and screen windows. The adjourned hearing was ad- <br /> journed at 10:5 P.M. <br /> The next meeting night is scheduled for Wednesday, June 26, 1968, <br /> in the. Selectmen's Room, Town Office Building.
