• <br /> ,4.J MINUTES OF ADJOURNED MEETING <br /> <br /> `~c~ HELD ON APRIL 24, 1968 <br /> The Lexington Historic Districts Commission held an adjourned <br /> meeting ©n Wednesday, April 21}, 1968, in the Selectmen~s Room, Town <br /> Office Building. Members present were Commissioners Wilbur M. <br /> Jaquith, Chairman, Philip B. Parsons, Secretary, Ruth G. Bevan, <br /> George E. Graves and Meg H. Straw and Associate Commissioner George t~. <br /> Emery. <br /> Adjourned hearing was held at 7:30 P.M. on the application of <br /> Rowe Chevrolet, Inc. for s Certificate of ,appropriateness with respect <br /> to the erection and display of a free standing sign for the new and <br /> altered building referred to in Certificate of Appropriateness No. <br /> 68 C-2, issued. January 17, 1968, st 33 Bedford Street, which is within <br /> the Battle Green District. The applicant was not represented, but <br /> scale drawings previously submitted were studied by the Commission. <br /> IIpon motion duly made and seconded, it was unanimously VOTED to issue <br /> a Certificate to the applicant upon receipt of more detailed scale <br /> drawings of this particular sign. No other persons having appeared, <br /> the hearing was closed at S;10 P.M. <br /> At 8515 P.M. Mr. David Pierce, General Manager of the Battle <br /> Green Inn, appeared for an informal meeting with respect to the ap- <br /> plication of RHD Realty and Development Co. for s Certificate ©f <br /> Appropriateness for the erection snd display of <br /> a sign for the Inn <br /> on the premises at 26-32 iNaltham Street, which is within the Battle <br /> Green District. Mr. Pierce submitted scale drawings of the pr®posed <br /> sign for the consideration of the Commission. Suggestions were made <br /> by Commission Members ss to a reduction in the .over-all dimensions of <br /> the .sign and the number of necessary words for proper direction t® <br /> the Inn, Mr. Pierce will return with corrected drawings to the for- <br /> mal hearing scheduled for May 22, 1968. <br /> The Chairman advised the Commission of the status of applies- <br /> tiona that are pending,. namely: <br /> 1. The application of The First Parish Church has been <br /> extended to September 15, 1968 <br /> 2. The application of Dr. Howard Foley et al has been <br /> extended to June 1, 1968 <br /> 3. The application of Robert 0. Tillinghast has been <br /> extended to-.May 15, 1968 <br /> The next meeting night is scheduled feax Wednesday, May 8, 1968, <br /> in the Selectmen~s Room, Town Office Building"to consider the applica- <br /> tion of George E. Rowe, Sr. and Grace F. Rowe for a Certificate ®P <br /> Appropriateness with respect t© the erection of a single family <br /> dwelling with attached two-ear garage on the premises at 11}60 Massa- <br /> chusetts Avenue, which is within the Munroe Tavern~~District. <br /> The meeting was adjourned at 9x50 P.M. <br /> Philip B.
