February 15, 1967 <br /> The Historic Districts Commission met at the time and place specified in the pablic <br /> <br /> ~tice of the hearing on the application of Feeland Realty for a Certificate of Appropriate- <br /> mess with respect to the erection and dispAay of a sign on the premises at 27 Depot Squ3e, <br /> which is wi thin the B~ tie Green District. <br /> Present were ~iTilbur M. Jaquith, Chairman, Phil ~ p B , Parsons, Secretary, Ruth ~k• Bevan, <br /> George E. Graves and Max H. Straw. <br /> The chairman read the notice of hearing and the letter of application. Appearing in <br /> behalf of the application was Mr.ll~ard who ansarered questions asked by the commission members. <br /> Since Mr. YPard did not have a scale drawing of the proposed sign, it was agreed that the <br /> hearing be adjourned until February 23, at which time there would be a scale drawing of <br /> the sign available. The hearing was adjourned at 7:~5 P,I~, <br /> Hearing was held at 7:t~5 r.DC. on the application of Mathematical A pplications Group <br /> Incorporated for a Certificate of Appropriateness with respect to the erection and display of <br /> a sign on the build ing at 1762 Massachusetts ,Avenue, which is within the Battle Green District. <br /> The chairman read the notice of hearing and the letter of application. Appearing in <br /> behalf of tke application was Mr. Yfilliam D. Canning, who presented the commission with a <br /> scale drawing of the proposed sign. The commission members asked Mr. Fanning questions reg- <br /> arding the sign, and the hearing was adjourned at 9:05 P.k~. <br /> Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was unanimously VOTID to issue a Certificate <br /> of Appropriateness to Mathematical Applic ationa Group Incorporated with respect to the erection <br /> and display of a sign to be erected on the second floor level of the front elevation of the <br /> building at 1762 Massachusetts Avenue, which is within the Battle Green District. <br /> Hearing was held at 8:05 P. M. on the application of New England Telephone and Telegraph <br /> Coompany for a Certificate of Appropriateness with respect to a proposed second floor additim <br /> to the existing building at 73 l~altham Street, which is within the Rattle Green District. <br /> Ths chairman read the notice of hearing and the letter of application. Appearing in ' <br /> behalf of the application was Mr. '~.lliam D. Sommers of the Telephone Compar~q and Austin J. <br /> Cribben of Hoyle, Doran and Berry, Architects, Mr. Cribben presented the commission with <br /> scale drawings of the proposed addition, schedule of exterior finish and phota~;raphs. uany <br /> questions were asked by the commission members. The hearing was adjourned a t10:35 P.~. <br /> Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was unanimously VOTED to issue a Certificate <br /> of Appropriateness to NexrEngland Telephone and Telegraph Company with respect to the <br /> erection of a second floor addition to the existing building at 73 Waltham Street, w hick is <br /> within the Battle Green District. <br /> The chairman stated that he had received h1.ls from Minute fan Publications add Elizabeth <br /> Adam. Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was unanimously VOTED to process these bills <br /> for payment. <br /> Mr. Straw stated that there w®re corrections to be mad® in Certificates No, 191, 192 <br /> and 193. The clerk will correct these certificates accordingly. <br /> The chairman stated that there will be a meeting on Friday, February 2i~, 1967, with <br /> regard to the application of First Parish Church. <br /> The ae sting was adjourned at 1:00 A.~b~y~`fr°'"~~~...~`.
