Grant, Chairman, Philip B. Parsons, Secretary, <br /> Ruth Bevan, George B. Graves and Wilbur B4. Jaquith. <br /> The chairman read the letter of application and the notice of hearing. <br /> rresent in behalf of the application were C. Harry Erickson, Architect, Lester <br /> York,, Chairman of the Public Facilities Building Committee, Lincoln P, Cole, Chairman <br /> of the Board of Selectmen and Selectman Robert Cataldo. Bar, Brickson showed the <br /> commission a complete set of plans for the proposed building, Maw questions were <br /> asked by the commission members, <br /> Bor. and Bars. Robert Bittenbender appeared at the hearin~ and stated that <br /> they wished to go on record as being opposed to the application. o one else wishing <br /> to be heard, the hearing was adjourned at 8:50 P. M. <br /> Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was VOTE to issue a certificate <br /> of appropriateness to Town of Lexington with respect to the erection of a Public <br /> Facilities and Information Building on the Buckman Tavern Grounds,~which is within <br /> the Battle Green District. <br /> Further discussion was also had on the application of the Town of <br /> Lexington for a certificate of appropriateness for the erection and display of a sign <br /> on the Battle Green and a sign on ttie Old Belfry property on Clarke Street, which <br /> is within the Battle Green District. <br /> The chairman read the letter of application for those attending the meeting <br /> that were not p resent at the original hearing. Bair, Lincoln Y. Cole, chairman of <br /> the board of Selectmen, representing the Town of Lexington, described the signs as <br /> proposed by the Selectmen. Questions ware asked BSr. Cole and the hearing was adjourned <br /> at 9s00 Y. l~. <br /> Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was VOT$D to issue a certificate of <br /> apropriateness to 'torn of Lexington with r espect to the erection and display of two <br /> suns within the Battle Green District, <br /> Also present at the meeting were Frank Crowley and John Silver representing <br /> Stop and Shop, Inc. fir, Silver stated that they now plan to construct two additional <br /> stores on their property on wiorthen Road and Bedford Street. fir. Bernard Healey and <br /> Bor. David Buttrick showed the commission what they plan to build in this regard, <br /> Questions were asked by the commission members. The chairman suggested that the <br /> Trustees of Stop and Shop Inc.., write a letter of application to the com^~ission to <br /> amend the present certificate of appropriateness as well as a certificate for <br /> additions, changes etc. <br /> It was stated that the next meeting ~r; Ll be held Bray 5, 1965, on the <br /> <br /> • application of Lexington Trust Company.
