January 6, 1965 <br /> The Historic Districts Commission met on January 6, 1965, at 8:00 P. M. <br /> in the Selectmen s Room, Town Office Building, Lexington, for an informal hearing. <br /> Present were Donald R. Grant, chairman, Wilbur M. Jaquith, Philip B. <br /> Parsons, George E. Graves and Ruth G. Bevan, In the absence of the Clerk, <br /> notes were taken by Ruth Bevan. <br /> Stop and Shop, lnc., representatives were Messrs. Crowley, Silver, <br /> Fine and Sawyer. Mr. Ivan Douglas of Sanscott Corp. also attended the <br /> meeting. <br /> A colored perspective and scaled drawings of the Stop and Shop markzt <br /> and adjoining stores on either side were shown the Commission and explained <br /> by B6r. Fine. and. Mr. Silver. Also discussed was a ta-~tative plan for the <br /> <br /> Stop and Shop Market with out adjoining shops. Although to scale, these <br /> drawings did not give details and elevations of all sides. <br /> Mr. Sawyer presented drawings of the intended standing signs for the <br /> area and recommendations were made on these. Also there was discussion of <br /> the lighting fixtures to be used in the parking areas. <br /> This hearing was closed at approximately 9:30 P .M, with tentative <br /> plans for the Stop and Shop, lnc. to file application for advertisement <br /> in the January 1!} issue of the Minute-Man for a hearing about February 3. <br /> Through Mr. Jaquith, Markl[oore submitted plans of proposed changes <br /> iso the house he is building at li.1G Hancock Street. The Commission felt <br /> that the changes in tYie previously approved plana ware substantial enough <br /> to require another public hearing.
