1 August 20, 196l~ The Historic Districts Commission met at the time and place specified in t ha public notice of the hearing on the applicat ion of The Reorganized Church of ~desus Christ of jattor Day Saints for a Certificate of Appropriateness for changes 3u the exterior architectural featiures of the building at 1386 Massachusetts Avanus, which is withia the Munroe Tavern District. Present were Donald R. Grant, Chairman Philip B. 'arsons, Secretary, Wilbur Jaquith, Ruth Bevan and Associate Commissioner R~.lph A. Burnham. Ths chairman read the letter of application and the notice of hearing, Mr, Myron C. Fisher appeared on behalf of the church and showed the commission a sample of the asphalt shingle to be used on the roof of the building. Mr. Fisher also showed the commission a photograph of the building as it presently exists, The commission members asked Mr. Fisher various questions. The hearing was adjourned at 8x10 P. ~d. Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was VOTED to issue a Certificate of Appropriateness to The Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of latter Day Saints for a change is the anterior architectural features of the existing building located on the premises at 1386 Massachusetts Avenue, which is within the Munroe Tavern District. Cheatham, dr.~ for a Certificate of Appropriateness for changes in the exterior architectural features of the building at !t0 Hancock Street, which is within the Hancock-Clarke 'District. Mr, I Paul Tradoie of Nobthern Floors Ines 17 Church Street, ~i.nahoster, Maas., appeared oa behalf of Mr. Cheatham who was out of state, Mr. Ledoie presented the commission with photogrs~pha and drawings of the proposed wi.ndowa and answered questions asked by the commission m®mbers. The hearing was ad3ourned at 8130 P.M. Upon motion duly made anct seconded, it was VOTED to issue a Certificate of Appropriateness to T. E. Cheath~s dr,s with respect to changes iss the exterior architectural features of the ®gi.sting dwelling at 1~0 Hancock Street, which is within the Hancock-Clarke District, Also present at the meeting was C. Harry Erickson, Architect, who showed the commission a revised drawing of the proposed building to be erected by the Committee for Public Facilities. Mr, Erickaom stated that he had erected stakes in t he area Hoar Buckman Tavern and further stated that the Committee would like an informal decision by the Historic Districts Commission as to their preferred location for the proposed building. Much discussion was had on this matter, and it was ~agTeid that tka Commission study the locations further before voting on a location.
