1 <br /> August 20, 196l~ <br /> The Historic Districts Commission met at the time and place specified in t ha <br /> public notice of the hearing on the applicat ion of The Reorganized Church of <br /> ~desus Christ of jattor Day Saints for a Certificate of Appropriateness for changes <br /> 3u the exterior architectural featiures of the building at 1386 Massachusetts <br /> Avanus, which is withia the Munroe Tavern District. <br /> Present were Donald R. Grant, Chairman Philip B. 'arsons, Secretary, Wilbur <br /> Jaquith, Ruth Bevan and Associate Commissioner R~.lph A. Burnham. <br /> Ths chairman read the letter of application and the notice of hearing, Mr, <br /> Myron C. Fisher appeared on behalf of the church and showed the commission a sample <br /> of the asphalt shingle to be used on the roof of the building. Mr. Fisher also <br /> showed the commission a photograph of the building as it presently exists, The <br /> commission members asked Mr. Fisher various questions. The hearing was adjourned <br /> at 8x10 P. ~d. <br /> Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was VOTED to issue a Certificate of <br /> Appropriateness to The Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of latter Day Saints for <br /> a change is the anterior architectural features of the existing building located on <br /> the premises at 1386 Massachusetts Avenue, which is within the Munroe Tavern District. <br /> Hearing wan hold on the application of T. B. Cheatham, dr.~ for a Certificate <br /> of Appropriateness for changes in the exterior architectural features of the building <br /> at !t0 Hancock Street, which is within the Hancock-Clarke 'District. <br /> This chaix~+an read the letter of application and the notice of hearing. Mr, I <br /> Paul Tradoie of Nobthern Floors Ines 17 Church Street, ~i.nahoster, Maas., <br /> appeared oa behalf of Mr. Cheatham who was out of state, Mr. Ledoie presented <br /> the commission with photogrs~pha and drawings of the proposed wi.ndowa and answered <br /> questions asked by the commission m®mbers. The hearing was ad3ourned at 8130 P.M. <br /> Upon motion duly made anct seconded, it was VOTED to issue a Certificate of <br /> Appropriateness to T. E. Cheath~s dr,s with respect to changes iss the exterior <br /> architectural features of the ®gi.sting dwelling at 1~0 Hancock Street, which is within <br /> the Hancock-Clarke District, <br /> Also present at the meeting was C. Harry Erickson, Architect, who showed the <br /> commission a revised drawing of the proposed building to be erected by the Committee <br /> for Public Facilities. Mr, Erickaom stated that he had erected stakes in t he area <br /> Hoar Buckman Tavern and further stated that the Committee would like an informal <br /> decision by the Historic Districts Commission as to their preferred location for the <br /> proposed building.
