April 22~ 1961s <br /> The Historic Districts Commission met at the time and place specified <br /> in t he public notice of the hearing on the application of Niles Company, Inc., <br /> for a certificate of appropriateness with respect to the erection and <br /> display of a sign on the premises on 1~arthen Road, which is within the Battle <br /> Green District„ <br /> Present oars Donald R. Grant, Chairman, Philip B. Parsons, Secretary, <br /> Ruth Bevan, George B. Graves and Wilbur M. Jaquith. <br /> The chairman read the notice of hearing. Mr. Paul 1P. Boyd and Mr. <br /> Charles H. Cole, Architect, appeared ixi behalf of the application and <br /> submitted a scale drawing of the temporary sign to be erected on the premiss. <br /> Various questions were a slued by the members of the commission. <br /> Opon motion duly made and seconded, it was VOTEII to issue a certificate <br /> of appropriai ®nesa to Niles Company Inc., with respect to the erection and <br /> display of a temporary sign to be constructed by the applicant i.n front of <br /> the apartment dwel.7.ing units now being constructed by it on the premises owned <br /> bq it on Aorthen Road, which is within the Battle Green District. <br /> Hearing was held on the application of Parish of the Church of Our <br /> Redeemer for a certificate of appropriateness with respect to the erection <br /> of an addition to the existing banding on the corner of Mariam Street and <br /> <br /> Patriots Drive, which is within the Battle Green District. <br /> The chairmanz+ead tha notice of hearing. Mr. Robert A. Bittenbender, <br /> Chairman of the Building Committee and fir. Edward M. Bridge, Architect <br /> appeared in behalf of` the application and presented the commission with three <br /> sets of scale drawings showing the four elevations. Questions wer® asked by <br /> <br /> members of the cammi.saion. <br /> ~Tpon motion duly made and ~conded, it was VOTED to issue a certificate <br /> of appropriateness to The Church of Our Redeemer with respect to the erection <br /> of an addition to the existing church building on the nortkn?esterly side of <br /> <br /> Mariam Street, which is within the Battle Crean District. <br /> The meeting adjourned at 9:40 P. r~' <br /> P ip B.
