Nov ember 6, 1963 <br /> The Historic Districts Commission met at the time and <br /> pla.ee specified in the public notice of the hearing on the <br /> application of The Reorganized Church of Beaus Christ of <br /> Latter Day Saints for a Certificate of Appropriateness for the <br /> exterior architectural features of the proposed. church <br /> building to be erected at 1356 Massachusetts Avenue, Which is <br /> within the ~~unroe Tavern District. <br /> Present were Donald R. Grant, Chai~°man, ~'hilip Ii. 'arsons, <br /> Secretary, Ruth }3evaxZ, George E, Uraves and Wilbur 1'~. Jaquith. <br /> The. chairman read the notice of the hearing and the letter <br /> of application dated October 5, 1963. Klso present in behalf of <br /> the application were ~`~r. Edward j'~. Bridge, Architect, 1'~r. Eugene <br /> F. Carter and Nir. Victor t~itte. l~he applicant showed the <br /> commission various drawings of the proposed building and discussed <br /> plans in general 'and asked for an informal expression of opinion <br /> by the mempers of the commission. After discussion it was <br /> agreed that the matter would be continued for further hearing <br /> until January 5, 1963, at which time tk~ church wished to present <br /> working drawings for consideration of tYze commission. '`t was <br /> also agreed that Mr. Carter would give the commission an extension <br /> of time in writing until '~anuary 15, 19611., to make decision on <br /> this application. ' <br /> Also present at the meeting were Mr. 1. w. Douglass of <br /> Sanscott Corporation, r1r. Norman Richards, Dawyer and ljr. krthur <br /> Schein of Sumner Schein & Associates, ,Architect, in behalf of <br /> Lexington Plaza Realty Trust, who appeared without prior arrangement <br /> to discuss the possible building which might be constructed <br /> on a portion of land at the junction of Tdorthen dad and Bedford <br /> Street. <br /> M r. Wilbur M. .Taquith read a letter addressed to Associate <br /> Commissioner William B. Hoyt regarding the air-conditioning units <br /> from General Electric Company. 'i'he letter is to be filed Frith <br /> the ~.pplication of Ruth P. Kugler. <br /> The Chai~~°man read a letter received from Theatre camera, <br /> Inc., for a certific?te of appropriateness for a sign ~t 1$10 <br /> <br /> Massachusetts Avenue.
