• September 1~, 1963 <br /> The historic llistricts commission met at the time and place <br /> specified in the public notice of the hearing on the application <br /> of Niles Co., Inc., for a Certificate of Appropriateness with <br /> respect to the exterior architectural features of the proposed <br /> apartment building and accessory structures on the premises on <br /> Worthen xoad, which is within the battle Green District. <br /> Present were Donald x. Grant, Chairman, Philip B, Parsons, <br /> Secretary, Ruth Bevan and Associate Commissioners Carl E. Bryant <br /> and Gilliam B. Hoyt. <br /> The chairman read the letter of application received from <br /> harry C, Caviston, dated July 15, 1963, and the letter from the <br /> planning hoard with its recommendation to the Beard of Appeals. <br /> Mr. Charles Cole, ,Architect, and Mr. Paul b oyd and Mr. <br /> Lester Reed both representing Niles Co., inc., appeared in behalf <br /> of the application. Mr. Cole presented the commission with a site <br /> drawing, and the commission members viewed this as we?_1 as other <br /> scaled drawings. he also showed the commission samples of aluminum <br /> siding to be used on the buildings. various questions were a seed <br /> by the members of the commission. The hearing was adjourned at <br /> 9=15 P, M. <br /> on motion made and duly seconded, it was unax~.imously V(}TED <br /> to grant to Niles Co., Inc., a certificate of appropriateness <br /> with respect to the exterior architectural features of six <br /> apartment dwelling units to be constructed on the premises owned by <br /> the applicant pn Worthen xoad, which is within the Battle u teen <br /> District. <br /> It was stated that the commission had received a letter from <br /> Ruth P. Kugler stating that she would grant an extension of time <br /> in which to consider her application for a certificate of <br /> appropriateness until pctober ZS, 1963. This application will be <br /> taken up at the next meeting of the commission on September 18, <br /> 1963, at 5:30 P. ~1. <br /> It was stated that application has been received from The <br /> Homan Catholic Archbishop of hoston, a Corporation Sol e, for a <br /> Certificate of Appropriateness. Hearing will be held at g:44 P. 3~1. <br /> on Wednesday, September 18, 1963. <br /> The meeting was adjourn/ed~aQt <br /> lU:3t~ P. M• <br /> <br /> • Secretary <br /> <br />
