March 26, 1963 <br /> The Historic Districts ~%ommission met at the time and place <br /> specified in the public notice of the hearing on the application of <br /> Russell Carroll, d/bfa Lexington Cleansers & Dyers, for a certificate <br /> of appropriateness for the display of a sign at 1806 Massachusetts <br /> Avenue, which is within the Battle Green ~ istrict. <br /> Present were llonald R. Grant, chairman, Philip D. parsons, <br /> Secretary,. Wilbur Jaquith, Ruth Bevan and Associate ~ ommissioner <br /> Carl E. Bryant. <br /> l~.e chairman read the correspondence received from Mr. Carroll. <br /> 'i'he commission members viewed the slide of the sign, and various <br /> questions were asked Mr. Carroll. <br /> On motion made and deconded, it was unanimously VOTED to grant <br /> to nussell Carroll, d/b/a Lexington cleansers & Dyers, a certificate <br /> of appropriateness with respect to the continued display of a portion <br /> of the existing sign at 1806 Massachusetts Avenue. <br /> Hearing was held at 8:15 P• M. on the application of ~:ymond E. <br /> <br /> houdreau, `t'rustee of Rayco Realty Trust for a certificate of <br /> appropriateness for proposed changes in the exterior architectural <br /> features in the building to be erected on Lot C on the southerly <br /> side of Worthen Road, and for certain proposed signs to be erected <br /> and displayed in connection with said building, which is within the <br /> Battle Green District. <br /> Appearing in behalf of the applicatioa::,were Raymond Boudreau, <br /> Trustee, and Lester N. Lechter, Architect. Also present were two <br /> engineers from xemington Company, who showed the commission members <br /> air-conditioning units which they intended to use in the building. <br /> Also presented to the co:rnnission was a new sample of brick to be used <br /> in the proposed building. Mr. Lechter showed a scale drawing of the <br /> proposed temporary sign to be displayed during the construction of <br /> the building. The commission meaubers asked various questions. <br /> On motion made and seconded, it was unanimously Y©TED to grant <br /> to naymond E. Boudreau, Trustee of nayco Realty ~rust,a certificate <br /> of appropriateness fczr changes in the certificate of appropriateness <br /> previously issued on November 7, 19b2, w~4th respect to the erection of <br /> the office building to be-constructed on Lot C on the southerly side <br /> of Worthen Road, :,~hich is within the Rattle Green District. <br /> On motion made axui. seconded, it was unanimously VOTED to grant <br /> to Raymond E, Loudreau, trustee of Rayco nealty Trust, a certificate <br /> of appropriateness for the erection and display of a temporary sign <br /> on and for use in connection with the building to be constructed <br /> on Lot C on the southerly side of Worthen naafi, which is within the <br /> Eattle Green llistrict. <br /> '1 he meeting was adjourned 0 <br /> ~3 <br /> --~-d <br /> Philip Parsons <br /> secretary <br /> <br />
