PLANNING BOARD <br />MINUTES OF APRIL 28, 1986 <br />The meeting of the Lexington Planning Board, held in Room G-15, Town Office <br />Building and Cary Hall, was called to order at 7:07 p.m. by the Chairman, Mrs. <br />Uhrig, with members Cripps, Klauminzer, Sorensen, Planning Director Bowyer and <br />Assistant Planner Rawski present. Mrs. Wood was absent. <br />125. Approval of Minutes: On the motion of Mr. Sorensen, seconded by Mrs. <br />Klauminzer, it was voted unanimously (4-0) to approve the Planning Board minutes <br />of April 22, 1986 as presented. <br />126. Annual Report on Affordable Housing: On the motion of Mrs. Klauminzer, <br />seconded by Mr. Sorensen, it was voted unanimously (4-0) to approve the Report <br />for the 1986 Town Meeting as presented. <br />127. Form A/86-9, Waltham Street, Robert Phelan: The Board reviewed a plan not <br />showing the transfer of land at the rear of the lot on Waltham Street into a lot <br />within the Farmhurst V subdivision. No additional building lots are created by <br />this transfer. On the motion of Mr. Sorensen, seconded by Mr. Cripps, it was <br />voted unanimously (4-0): <br />to endorse the plan entitled "Plan of Land in Lexington, Mass. dated April <br />11, 1986, by Hayes Engineering, Inc., certified by Sidney Field, Jr., Cer- <br />tified Land Surveyor, with application form A/86-9, as it does not require <br />' approval under the Subdivision Control Law. <br />128. Sunset Ridge, off Buckman Drive: Ms. Rawski reported the staff had explor- <br />ed several options with the engineers to implement the Board's direction to the <br />staff (see the minutes of April 22, 1986). The Board agreed: <br />1) to permit a reduction in the pavement width of the left -arm of the road by <br />two feet to 22 feet, where it serves only one home, in order to hold the setback <br />between the pavement and the neighbors' rear lot lines to a minimum of 8 feet; <br />2) to allow a slight increase in the length of the 9.5% grade section of the <br />roadway, if necessary, but not to allow any increase in the grade percentage. <br />3) that construction of the stone pillars would not be permitted within the <br />right-of-way; and <br />4) that fencing would be provided where the wall is over three feet in height. <br />On the motion of Mr. Sorensen, seconded by Mrs. Klauminzer, it was voted unani- <br />mously (4-0) to grant the applicant's request for an extension of time for action <br />by the Board until May 9, 1986. The staff was requested to prepare a draft of a <br />decision for the Board. <br />129. APPLICATIONS TO THE BOARD OF APPEALS: Mr. Cripps gave an oral report of the <br />five applications to be heard by the Board of Appeals on May 8, 1986. It was <br />agreed to make no recommendation on the following two cases: <br />7 Brandon Street, John Johansson; SP, expand dwelling <br />330 Woburn Street, Shell Oil; SP, gas station and sign <br />
