APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The minutes of the meeting of March 4, 1985 were corrected and on a motion by Mr.
Cripps seconded by Mrs. Uhrig were approved unanimously as corrected.
ARTICLES FOR 1985 TOWN MEETING
134. Article 21, RD, Woburn Street: On the motion of Mrs. Uhrig seconded by Mrs.
Flemings, it was voted 3-1-1, with Mr. Sorensen opposed and Mr. Cripps, abstain-
ing, to approve the report on Article 21, as amended.
SUBDIVISION OF LAND
135. Graystone, off Pleasant Street; Extension of Time: In response to a request
from Boyd Smith, Inc. dated May 13, 1985 and on the motion of Mr. Sorensen secon-
ded by Mrs. Uhrig, it was voted unanimously to extend the time for action on the
definitive plan and special permit until June 12, 1985.
' 136. Kitson Park, off Concord Avenue: On the motion of Mr. Sorensen seconded by
by Mr. Cripps, it was voted unanimously to approve a change in the grading plan
for lot 6 which is different than that shown on the definitive plan to which the
special permit for a conventional subdivision refers.
137. Pheasant Brook, Kahn -Quinn, Endorsement: The Board endorsed the definitive
plan and authorized the Planning Director to sign additional sheets in its
behalf.
REPORTS
138. Planning Director
a. Mobil Station, Bedford Street: Mr. Bowyer reported that the Board of
Appeals had received an application for a special permit for two free-
standing signs and a request for a variance to erect a canopy as part of
Mobil Oil's "project face-lift" for the Station at Bedford Street and North
Hancock Street. He said this was the proto-typical "Route 1" high
visibility treatment, with lot line to lot line pavement and not one growing
thing. It was agreed that a letter would be sent to the Board of Appeals
suggesting that Mobil Oil withdraw its application, and submit a new plan
showing ample landscaping and a "toned -down" appearance in keeping with the
residential suburban character of Lexington and that immediate neighborhood.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:51 p.m.
J
Judith J. Uhrgi , Clerk
