PLANNING BOARD MINUTES <br />MEETING OF JANUARY 9, 1984 <br />The meeting of the Lexington Planning Board, held in Room G-15, Town Offices, was <br />called to order at 7:38 p.m. by the Chairman, Mrs. Smith, with members Flemings, <br />Nichols, Sorensen, Uhrig and Planning director Bowyer present. <br />1. APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />The minutes of the meeting of November 7, 1983, were corrected and on the motion of <br />Mr. Sorensen, seconded by Mrs. Flemings, were approved unanimously as corrected. <br />The minutes of the meeting of November 14, 1983, were corrected and on the motion <br />of Mrs. Flemings, seconded by Mrs. Nichols, were approved by a vote of 4-0. Mr. <br />Sorensen abstained as he was not present at that meeting. <br />ADMINISTRATION OF LAND DEVELOPMENT REGULATIONS <br />2. Maple Tree Village Subdivision: Request for Extension of Time: The Board was <br />in receipt of a request by Anthony S. Gentile, dated January 6, 1984, that the time <br />for action on the subdivision plan be extended for 30 days. On the motion of Mr. <br />Sorensen, seconded by Mrs. Nichols, it was voted unanimously to approve the request <br />and to extend the time for action on the definitive subdivision plan and the <br />special permit for a conventional subdivision from January 26, 1984 to February 25, <br />1984. On the motion of Mr. Sorensen, seconded by Mrs. Nichols, it was voted unani- <br />mously to set January 23, 1984 as the date for the public hearings on the subdivi- <br />sion plan. <br />I <br />The Board recessed at 7:57 p.m. to meet with the Board of Selectmen to discuss the <br />proposal for a hotel -conference center at Minuteman Regional Vocational Technical <br />School. <br />The Board reconvened at 9:57 p.m. <br />3. APPLICATIONS TO THE BOARD OF APPEALS <br />Mrs. Smith presented an oral review of cases to be heard by the Board of Appeals on <br />January 26, 1984. It was agreed to make no recommendation on the following three <br />cases: <br />36 Percy Road, Arlene Way: SP, continue use of garage <br />73 Grassland Street, Ronald DeMille: Variance, side yard for existing stairs <br />8 Carriage Drive, Alan Batzinger: Variance, side yard <br />38 Adams Street, George Redick: SP, operate/maintain commercial greenhouse: Mrs. <br />Nichols commented that farm stands or nurseries do not work well in residential <br />areas. Mrs. Smith observed that Adams Street was narrow and heavily traveled. On <br />the motion of Mr. Sorensen, seconded by Mrs. Flemings, it was voted unanimously to <br />state no opposition to conducting a mail order nursery business but to recommend <br />against granting a permit for the retail nursery type operation. <br />93 Hancock Street, Lexington Gardens: SP, continue use: On the motion of Mr. <br />Sorensen, seconded by Mrs. Nichols, it was voted unanimously to recommend in favor <br />of granting the special permit providing the same conditions are attached as were <br />included in the most recently granted permit. <br />
