295 <br />PLANNING BOARD MINUTES <br />MEETING OF MAY 24, 1982 <br />The meeting of the Lexington Planning Board, held in Room G-15, Town Offices, <br />was cabled to order at 7:38 p.m. by the Chairman, Mr. Sandy, with members <br />Nichols, Sorensen, and Uhrig, and Planning Director Bowyer present. Mrs. Smith <br />was absent because she did not receive notification of the meeting. <br />78. ARTICLES FOR 1982 ANNUAL TOWN MEETING <br />Article 55, Adams School Property Conveyance: The Board discussed the pro- <br />LO posal to convey the Adams School property to the Waldorf School. Mr. Sandy <br />N indicated he was opposed to a sale of the building but would support a lease <br />for a five-year period. Mrs. Uhrig suggested that tearing down the building <br />0 and providing access to the open area in the back was probably <br />the best solu- <br />a <br />tion. After further discussion, the Board was not enthused about the sale of <br />co the building to a private school but could not agree on an alternate use to <br />support. <br />Article 61, Hartwell Avenue and Wood Street: The Board reviewed some technical, <br />editing changes in the site development and use plan. Julian Bussgang of Sig- <br />natron, Inc. and Samuel Altreuter of Spaulding & Slye Corp. were present. Mr. <br />Bowyer reported that the revised stipulation from the Cosgroves and Marie <br />Maguire had been submitted. <br />79. COMMUNICATIONS <br />I r Mr. Bowyer distributed a copy of a letter, dated May 21, 1982, from L. Gail <br />Colwell, Chairman of the Housing Committee of the League of Women Voters, which <br />proposed that the Planning Board create a "Committee on Affordable Housing", <br />and a copy of a "Proposal for a Lexington Committee on Affordable Housing". <br />The meeting was adjourned at 8:02 p.m. <br />Karsten Sorensen, Clerk <br />
