483 <br />yinutes of Planning Board Meeting <br />January 11, 1982 <br />The meeting of the Lexington Planning Board, held in Room G-15, Town Offices, <br />was called to order at 7:34 p.m. by the Chairman, Mr. Sandy, with members <br />Nichols, Smith, Sorensen, Wheaton and Planning Director Bowyer present. <br />S. Approval of Minutes <br />On the motion of Mr. Sorensen, seconded by Mrs. Wheaton, the minutes of the <br />meeting of January 4, 1982, were approved unanimously as written. <br />POLICIES, COMPREHENSIVE PLANNING <br />l®V 9. North Lexington Traffic Improvements: Mrs. Wheaton reported on a meeting of <br />Q the Selectmen's Advisory Committee on the North Lexington Traffic Improvements <br />(n held on Friday, January 8, 1982. She had a list of about 30 concerns that <br />Q needed to be addressed. <br />Several members commented on the submittal to the State DPW which the Town is <br />scheduled to make on January 20. It was not clear what the effect of that sub- <br />mittal would be and whether the Town will be able to make changes after the plan <br />is submitted. <br />After considerable discussion, on a motion by Mr. Sandy, seconded by Mrs. <br />' 4±neaton, it was voted 3-0, to send a letter to the -Board of Selectmen stating <br />that: <br />The Planning Board recommends that the Selectmen not submit the revised <br />North Lexington Traffic Improvement plan to the State until the following <br />issues are satisfactorily resolved: <br />1. access to Bedford Street from Eldred Street <br />2. access to Bedford Street from the frontage road on the north side <br />of Bedford Street <br />3. access to the Drummer Boy development from Bedford Street. <br />4. pedestrian traffic across Bedford Street <br />5. bicycle traffic on Bedford Street and Hartwell Avenue <br />6. adequate storage of cars on the mini -jughandle <br />7. access to the commercial property on the south side of Bedford <br />Street particularly Tektronix <br />The Planning Board is also concerned about the effect of traffic patterns <br />on Winter Street and Grove Street and the possible need for improvements on <br />those streets. <br />
