PLANNING BOARD MEETING
April 24, 1978
The meeting of the Lexington Planning Board was called to order at 7:06 p.m.
by the chairman Mr. Zabin with members Sandy, Friedman, Wheaton, Nichols,
planning director Briggs and secretary Mrs. Snow present. Also in atten-
dance were Ted Osborn, D.A.C., and Louis Conrad, Lexington Minute -Man.
Plans filed with Applications Form A78-8 and 78-9, submitted by Dean FORM A78-8
Curtin so as to exempt previously recorded parcels from effects of forth -LINCOLN ST.
coming Zoning By -Law amendments, were reviewed. Upon a motion duly FORM A78-9
made and seconded, it was unanimously voted to defer action on the MARRETT RD.
applications to March 26, 1978.
The May meeting schedule was decided upon as follows: Monday meetings MAY MTG.SCHED•
at 7:30 p.m. will be held on May 1, 8, 15, 22, 1978. Due to observance ULE
of Memorial Day on May 29, the meeting that week will be held on Tuesday,
May 30.
Discussion continued on the Curtin petition to the Board of Appeals B/A 4/27
(hearing 4/27). It was agreed to recommend against the granting of the HEARINGS
use variance sought because no hardship can be shown, and because of
inadequate parking provisions for the number of square feet in the CURTIN
building proposed.
The Lexington Gardens, Lowell St. petition was again considered. It
was agreed that restriction of retail business, limitation of trucking
hours, and one-way traffic system on the site will be recommended.
Mr. Briggs Work Program Outline for 1978/79 was reviewed and briefly WORK PROGRAM
discussed. Formation of a subcommittee for Project I, Housing Master
Plan, will be undertaken at the first meeting following Town Meeting.
It was suggested that before Project II, Lexington Center Review, is
begun, the Planning Board should seek advice from the Design Advisory
Committee.
The meeting adjourned at 7:59 p.m.
.
