PLANNING BOARD MEETING
<br />March 4, 1974
<br />The meeting of the Lexington Planning Board was called to order at 7:30
<br />p.m. by the chairman Dr. Clarke with members L. Brown, Costello, planning
<br />director Briggs and secretary Mrs. Snow present. Also in attendance was
<br />Sally Hager, LWV.
<br />Mr. Briggs reported on his progress with examination and correction of WETLAND MAPS
<br />contour figures (by use of survey data) of the photogrammetric maps
<br />showing proposed "W" areas.
<br />Dr. Clarke read a letter from the Lexington Housing Authority, dated SCATTERED
<br />March 1, 1974, informing the Board of request for funds under the "705" SITE HOUSING
<br />program, and asking written evidence of Planning Board support for the 11705"
<br />request for financial assistance for the scattered site housing project.
<br />Dr. Clarke read his draft of a letter in response, and the letter was
<br />approved as corrected.
<br />A letter dated Feb. 21, 1974, inviting Planning Board members to attend SCOTTISH RITE
<br />a cornerstone laying of the Scottish Rite Masons Museum and Library CEREMONY
<br />building on Sunday, March 10 at 2:30 p.m., was noted.
<br />The minutes of Planning Board meeting of Feb. 11, 1974, were approved
<br />as written.

<br />PETITION
<br />The petition of Martin Bernard, Burlington Arcade, (B/A hearing 3/19) BURLINGTON
<br />and the report of John Frey, DAC, as to recommended requirements if ARCADE B/A
<br />Special Permit is granted, were reviewed. The Planning Board will meet PETITION
<br />with the Board of Selectmen on March 11 for discussion of Town position
<br />on the matter.
<br />Adams Estates developer DeCarlo's request to exchange bankbooks now held
<br />by the Town as surety for others in the same amount, showing change of
<br />ownership of the subdivision from Castoldi to DeCarlo, was discussed. It
<br />was decided that the amount of surety will remain the same pending com-
<br />pletion of work on Brent, Suzanne and Emerson roads, as recommended by
<br />the Town Engineer. Mr. Briggs will confer with the developer to inform
<br />him that he will be allowed to submit corrected bankbooks.

<br />Board of Appeals notices of hearings to be held on March 19 were re- B/A HEARINGS
<br />viewed. As previously noted, the DiMarzo and Bernard petitions will be DE VITO PET.
<br />commented upon. Mr. Briggs was asked to obtain additional information on
<br />the DeVito petition (Lot 80 Valleyfield St.) for report to the Board on
<br />March 11.
<br />Letter from Manfred Friedman, dated Feb. 25, 1974, re Article 83 (RD Zone),
<br />suggesting amendment, was noted. RD ARTICLE

<br />The petition of Nicole M. DiMarzo re 325
<br />Waltham St., (B/A hearing
<br />3/19),
<br />was discussed. Adverse topography, limited
<br />sight distance along Waltham
<br />St., and existing volume of traffic were
<br />noted. It was agreed that
<br />the
<br />Board will oppose the extension of CG zone accessory use (parking)
<br />into
<br />RS zone and Mr. Briggs was instructed to
<br />draft a letter reflecting
<br />the
<br />abovementioned, for consideration of the
<br />Board on March 11.
