PLANNING BOARD MEETING <br />June 8, 1970 <br />The regular meeting of the Planning Board was held in its temporary <br />office location in the Legion Room in the Cary Memorial Building on <br />Monday, June 8, 1970 at 7:30 p.m. Chairman Lund opened the meeting <br />with members Clarke, Brown, Graham, Worrell and Planning Director <br />Zaleski and Planning Intern O'Neil present. <br />Mrs. Elizabeth Flynn met with the Board at 7:30 p.m. to discuss the <br />future use of Haroian land located on Concord Ave. and the Cannizzo- <br />Hamilton land on the ledges between Rte. 2 and Concord Ave. <br />A public hearing on the Idylwilde subdivision definitive plan was <br />held in Cary Hall at 8:00 p.m. Mr. Robert Cass presented the pro- <br />posed plan and answered questions asked by some of the ten people <br />attending the hearing. Further discussion of the drainage problem <br />and the connecting of the developer's drain with the drain which now <br />runs under Marrett Rd. but is too high for proper drainage. No one <br />spoke in favor nor in opposition. <br />A preliminary subdivision plan of land of Benjamin Franklin Homes, <br />Inc. betwwen Woburn and Maple Streets, showing 180 acres more or <br />less and showing 206 new lots, was submitted to the Planning Board. <br />The planning director was asked to inform the Town Manager of the <br />submission of this plan. <br />The planning director reported the postponement of the posting with <br />' the Town Clerk of the Board of Appeals decision on the Almarjo Realty <br />permit concerning a finding and determination and variance regarding <br />parking requirements which was granted on May 26, 1970. He also <br />reported that Mr. Douglass had met with him and was reluctant to change <br />the plans for the proposed office building on Militia Drive and that <br />the Board of Appeals had requested the services of Mr. Legro in this <br />matter. It was suggested the Board take no action until the decision <br />is posted with the Town Clerk and the planning director was asked to <br />write a letter to the Board of Appeals recommending specific figures <br />as to size of building and the parking area required. <br />John Culp and Messrs. Perkins and Brigham of Justin Gray Associates <br />met with the Board next to discuss the format of the next two public <br />meetiny concerned with the Meagherville study area. Mr. Culp sub- <br />mitted for the Board's approval a list of proposed questions to be <br />distributed at these meetings. It was decided to ask a Town Meeting <br />member from the Meagherville neighborhood to be moderator rather than <br />a member of the consultant's group. <br />The draft of a letter to the Board of Appeals regarding the proposed <br />Chalet Susse sign was read, discussed and approved. <br />The meeting adjourned at 10:55 p.m. <br />Eric T.
