1 <br />1 <br />n <br />PLANNING BOARD MEETING <br />April 13, 1970 <br />The regular meeting of the Planning Board was held in its office on <br />Monday, April 13, 1970. The chairman opened the meeting at 7:30 p.m. <br />with members Brown, Clarke, Graham, Worrell and planning director <br />Zaleski present. <br />Mr. J. A.Griecci met with the Board to discuss a 7 acres parcel of land <br />behind 205 Woburn St. for the development of subsidized housing. The <br />Board advised Mr/Griecci that part of this land is in the area which the <br />Town has voted to acquire for a Jr. High School site and before they <br />could give him any advice, he should talk with the Town Manager about <br />the vote and see if the Town wishes to acquire his land. <br />The minutes of the April 16 meeting were approved. <br />J. GRIECCI <br />OFF WOBURN ST. <br />SUBSIDIZED <br />HOUSING <br />MINUTES APPROVED <br />Mr. Zaleski, planning director, reported on the meeting which he and ROUTE 2A REPORT <br />Mrs. Brown attended regarding Route 2A and plans for terminating Route <br />2A at the National Park entrance and the use of service roads running <br />parallel to Route 128 to Route 2 instead of widening Route 128. <br />The Board met with the Lexington Interfaith Inc. to discuss with Mr. R. LEXINGTON <br />Larsen, Director of Boston's Interfaith Housing, Inc., his experience INTERFAITH INC. <br />with the Stoughton project. Mr. Herman Swartz, chairman of the Lexing- R. LARSEN OF <br />ton Interfaith Inc., stated that they have no plans and are waiting for BOSTON'S <br />the Planning Board's report on the Meagherville study. Chairman Lund INTERFAITH <br />suggested it might be July before a report could be rendered. Members HOUSING, INC. <br />of the Planning Board and Lexington Interfaith asked questions concerning <br />the number of units, organization, financing and maintenance of the <br />Stoughton project. Mr. Larsen mentioned two fears: projectitis and <br />the dollar value (tax return to town). He suggested a plan for a mini - <br />community or mixed housing which would encourage consumer ownership with <br />a board of directors management using trained managers. He also suggested <br />the Board of Selectmen, Planning Board and Lexington Interfaith, Inc. might <br />organize a 121A organization or that Lexington Interfaith Inc. go into <br />a land banking plan and accumulate good land in control for future use <br />for housing. Mr. Larsen stated he would be interested in helping with such <br />a program. Education of the public and the Town Meeting members was <br />discussed and a suggestion offered that members of the Interfaith group <br />discuss this program with individual Town Meeting members before Town <br />Meeting time. <br />A letter, stating the Board's opposition to the petition of R. H. Colbourne B/A PETITION <br />scheduled for a Board of Appeals hearing on April 14 concerning the divid-MT. ROAD <br />ing of land on Mountain Road, was approved and signed. R.H. COLBOURNE <br />Also approved was a letter stating the Board's opposition to expansion of B/A PETITION <br />the nursery on Anthony Cataldo's farm, now leased to Seasons Four, Inc. A. CATALDO <br />Mr. Louis Stoico's subdivision plan for land off Bryant Rd. was discussed L. STOICO <br />and reviewed next. The Board agreed the general layout was acceptable SUBDIVISION PLAN <br />as long as an easement is given along the brook and they would support the <br />petition to the Board of Appeals.
