1 <br />1 <br />PLANNING BOARD MEETING <br />March 14, 1970 <br />The Planning Board held a meeting in its office at 2:00 p.m. on <br />March 14, 1970. Chairman Lund called the meeting to order with <br />members Clarke, Worrell, Graham, Brown and Planning Director <br />Zaleski present. <br />The report of the Planning Board on Articles 91 and 99 were approved <br />unanimously as written. <br />The Planning Board report on Article 103 was reviewed, amended and <br />approved unanimously as amended. <br />The report on Article 104 was discussed next. The Waltham City <br />Council resolution in opposition was noted and comparison of the <br />absence of sewer for the proposed RM development in Art. 101 and <br />in this Article was made. Also noted was the agreement of the <br />owners to reduce the scope of rezoning from 30 to 11 acres. The <br />report on Article 104 was approved as amended. <br />The Dunkin' Donuts petitions for signs were discussed next. The <br />signs requested are large free standing fluorescent signs in a <br />small CG district at the intersection of Marrett Rd. and Waltham St. <br />The Board had no objection to the location or to signs on the <br />building but was opposed to the size, height and type of illumination. <br />A letter to the Board of Appeals, stating this opposition, was <br />approved and signed. <br />PL.BD. REPORT <br />ART. 104 <br />DUNKIN'DONUTS <br />B/A SIGN PETITION <br />The next item discussed was the access to the proposed Jr. High PROPOSED JR. HI <br />School from Waltham St. The Board favors a separate access to the WALTHAM ST. <br />Jr. High School from Waltham St., leaving the appropriate location ACCESS <br />and geometric design to the Town Engineer but felt it must be <br />adequate for two way traffic and conforming to contours. <br />After discussion of the sale of tax title lot 40 Rockville Ave., the TAX TITLE LOT <br />Board recommended against the sale of this lot at this time because 40 ROCKVILLE AVE. <br />of possible use for subsidized housing. <br />The Arnold Haynes building plans for a proposed office building on <br />Waltham St. were reviewed and discussed. A letter to the Board of <br />Appeals with the Board's recommendations was approved and signed. <br />A letter of confirmation from Attorney Patr`icia Hagedorn for the <br />reduction to 11 acres of the proposed CR rezoning near Hobbs Bro®k <br />was noted and discussed. <br />The meeting adjourned at 4:00 p.m. <br />Erick T.
