PLANNING BOARD MEETING <br />' February 20, 1969 <br />Meeting of the Planning Board in the Lexington Senior High <br />School was called to order by chairman Lund at 9:30 p.m. <br />with members Clarke, Fowle, Riffin, Worrell, planning director <br />Zaleski and Conservation Committee members Brown, Frick, <br />Mazerall and Totman present. <br />The Board discussed the need to define its position regarding <br />the rezoning for moderate income housing off Woburn Street <br />and to consider modifications of the layout. Mrs. Riffin <br />spoke generally in support of the proposed rezoning. Mr. <br />Lund mentioned the possibility of providing in the future of <br />a special zone for this type of housing. Mr. Clark and Mr. <br />Fowle discussed the need for revisions to provide a better <br />access. Mr. Fowle also suggested that the impact on overall <br />development, traffic and open space plans should be considered. <br />Mr. Worrell suggested that the social advantages of the pro- <br />posal to Lexington probably outweigh the problems, even though <br />the rezoning would be of relatively small direct value of <br />relieving the crisis of the central city. It was agreed that <br />Mrs. Riffin would prepare a report draft for consideration by <br />the Planning Board. <br />MODERATE INCOME <br />HOUSING <br />' Upon a motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to go into EXECUTIVE SESSION <br />executive session to discuss matters which, if disclosed,could <br />adversely affect the financial interest of the town. Mr. Suss- <br />man joined the meeting at this time. Following a discussion of <br />land acquisition proposals, the Board voted to resume the open <br />meeting. <br />Mr. Worrell reported on the street hearing on February 13, and NICKERSON ROAD <br />the objections by abuttors to the Nickerson Road pedestrian <br />easement. <br />The Hamilton rezoning proposal for Spring Street was discussed HAMILTON REZONING <br />next and the Board voted to oppose it. Mr. Fowle agreed to SPRING STREET <br />prepare the draft of Planning Board's report. <br />Mr. Clarke volunteered to prepare a report on the nursing home NURSING HOME ART. <br />articles. <br />Drafts of reports on Articles 85 through 87, 89 through 94 ARTICLES 85-87, <br />inclusive and 97 prepared by the planning director were dis- 89-94, 97 <br />cussed next and approved, except the report on Article 90 which <br />was amended by Mr. Worrell and a minor change in Article 91 and <br />94 reports. <br />It was decided to discuss Longfellow Road extension subdivision <br />' Monday, February 24, 1969. <br />The meeting was adjourned at 10:35 p.m. <br />F %� <br />Francis T.
