PLANNING BOARD MEETING <br />April 29, 1968 <br />A regular meeting of the Lexington Planning Board was <br />held in its office, Town Office Building, on Monday, April <br />29, 1968. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Mrs. <br />Riffin at 7:30 p.m. with members Clarke, Fowle and Worrell, <br />and Planning Director Zaleski present. <br />Minutes of the meeting of April 22 were approved. MINUTES <br />A letter relative to notice of hearing on new text BY-LAW <br />of the Zoning By -Law was approved. HEARING <br />A letter to the Board of Appeals opposing a two- BD. OF APPEALS <br />family house at #113-115 Bedford St. was read and approved. Moore <br />A letter to Attorney Stevens relative to Ford dealer- <br />ship on Bedford St. was read and approved. <br />A letter to the Board of Appeals opposing the variance <br />to permit the division of Kingston Homes lot on Maple St. Kingston Homes <br />and Ingleside Rd. was discussed and approved in substance, <br />subject to technical clarifications of the wording by the <br />chairman. <br />' A letter to the Board of Appeals relative to business <br />parking on R 1 land in back of 1394 Lowell St. was read and 394 Lowell St. <br />discussed next. Following several amendments to clarify the <br />intent, the letter was approved. <br />Also read was a letter to the Board of Appeals relative <br />to the addition of second story at #394 Lowell St. The letter 394 Jowell St. <br />was amended and approved. <br />The Board next discussed the proposed recommendation <br />relative to the expansion of Shell Station at Maple St. and Shell Oil <br />Massachusetts Ave. The matter was postponed until after the <br />meeting with the Conservation Commission. <br />Messrs. Sussman, Smith, Brown, York, Ripley, Mazerall CONSERVATION <br />and the Secretary, Mrs. Sampson, of the Conservatinn Commission COMMISSION <br />met with the Board for a joint meeting at 8:30 p.m. <br />Both groups agreed on the importance of coordinating <br />conservation projects at an early or planning stage and of in- <br />forming the financial committees of programs and projects. <br />The publication of an open space and conservation plan <br />for Lexington was discussed next. Westwood and Wayland con- <br />servation plans were viewed by those present. The assignment <br />of priorities was considered next. The matter was tabled to <br />permit the discussion of land acquisition. <br />
