PLANNING BOARD MEETING
IFebruary 5, 1968
A regular meeting of the Lexington Planning Board was
held in its office, Town Office Building, on Monday, Feb-
ruary 5, 1968. The meeting was called to order by Chairman
Mrs. Riffin with members Fowle, Greeley and Worrell, and
Planning Director Zaleski present.
Plan submitted with Form A application #68-5, as fol-
lows, was examined and it was decided to refer it to the Town
Counsel for determination whether lots marked 21 and 22 con-
stitute one or two lots within the meaning of the Zoning By -
Law (see below, these minutes).
FORM A
#685, submitted February 1, 1968 by Dean E. Nicholson,
Atty.; plan entitled "Plan of Land in Lexington, Mass." Nicholson
dated 1/13/67, by Miller & Nylander, C.E.'s & Surveyors.
Revision of article permitting apartments in C 2
districts proposed by the Town Counsel were reviewed and STREETS
the manner of designating major streets discussed at some
length.
' Messrs. Storer, Tryon and Brock met with the Board to
discuss the citizens' proposal to purchase lands in the Mason LAND ACQUISITION
St. (Peacock Farms, Sec. VI) subdivision. The purposes - MASON ST. AREA
(accessto recreation area and possible future road) were ex-
plained by Mr. Storer. Mr. Greeley questioned whether the two
parcels and the two purposes could be separated in such a
manner as to permit separate vote on each. Mr. Fowle ob-
jected to the road concept and Mr. Storer enumerated the past
events which'in his opinion indicated the intention of the town
to build a road in this location.
Attorney Harold Stevens met with the Board relative to
the proposed rezoning to CS of land at Bedford St. Mr. Stevens REZONING TO CS
specifically questioned the 100 ft. setback (from the base BEDFORD ST.
line) in CS districts for parking facilities and gasoline
pumps. On motion of Mr. Greeley the Board voted to change
the article to provide that uses in front yard shall occupy not
more than 50% of front yard area with gasoline pumps and
accessories thereto and parking facilities, the last two being
at least 100 ft. from the baseline of Bedford St. This change
would be made if acceptable to the Town Counsel at this time.
Draft of a letter to accompany M & E report prepared by
Mr. Greeley was read and discussed next. It was decided to M&E REPORT
have members review the draft at home and comment next week.
' The Board voted unanimously to recommend that the
acceptance of any portion of Ingleside Rd. be postponed INGLESIDE RD.
until the entire road is completed.
