1 <br />1 <br />PLANNING BOARD MEETING <br />May 31, 1966 <br />The Lexington Planning Board held a regular meeting STREET <br />on Tuesday, May 31, 1966. From 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. the Board INSPECTION <br />toured the town to inspect and determine the status of <br />certain unpaved streets. <br />At 8:00 p.m. the meeting was called to order by <br />Chairman Campbell with members Fowle, Riffin and Worrell, <br />and Planning Director Zaleski present. <br />Minutes of Planning Board meeting of May lfj, 1966 MINUTES <br />were read and approved as amended. <br />Plan submitted with Form A application 1166-17 <br />entitled "Plan of Land in Lexington, Mass.", dated May 6, FORM A <br />1966, was reviewed by members of the Board and endorsed as Ricci <br />not requiring approval under the Subdivision Control Law. <br />The preliminary subdivision plan of Longfellow Rd. <br />extension (Longfellow Estates, Sec. 3) was reviewed by LONGFELLOW RD. <br />the Planning Board and its relationship to Chapter 220, EXTENSION <br />Acts of 1965 (Hatch Act) discussed. The majority of the <br />Board was in favor of notifying the Dept. of Natural Re- <br />sources that this land may come within the purview of the <br />Hatch Act. It was also decided to notify Mr. Spagnuola of <br />the recommendations of the town engineer and request a <br />profile of the drainage ditch to Willards Woods. <br />Mr. Greeley joined the meeting at this time. <br />Mr. John J. Carroll, Town Engineer, came in and <br />presented a letter relative to the preliminary plan of MASON ST. <br />Mason St. extension (Peacock Farm, Sec. V), agreeing to EXTENSION - <br />Planning Board recommendations with the exception of the PEACOCK FARM <br />width of Mason St., which he wished to be 50 ft. and not <br />40, as proposed. The Board agreed to 50 ft. right-of-way <br />width but decided to waive 30 ft. pavement requirements. <br />The design of Massachusetts Ave. in the center was <br />discussed next, the Board expressing themselves in favor MASS. AVE. - <br />of the design proposed by Mr. 'Carroll involving parking LEX. CENTER <br />bays and sidewalk projections with trees along both sides. <br />The plan entitled "Plan of Land in Lexington, FORM A <br />Mass.", dated Jan. 8, 1965, John J. Carroll, Eng., endorsed <br />by the Planning Board on Nov. 22, 1965 was re -endorsed as Town of Lexington <br />being unchanged and not requiring approval under the Sub- <br />division Control Law. <br />Mr. Guyton Nicolai and Mr. Richard Thomson, C.E., <br />
