PLANNING BOARD MEETING <br />' April 5, 1965 <br />A regular meeting of the Lexington Planning Board <br />was held on Monday, April 5, 1965 in its office, Town <br />Office Building. The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. <br />by Chairman Bryson, with Members Greeley, Fowle and Riffin and <br />Planning Director Zaleski present. <br />Up,n motion duly made and seconded the Board voted to <br />extend the time for Planning Board action on "The Orchard" <br />subdivision (Bloomfield St. Extension) to April 203 1965 as re- <br />quested in writing by the applicant, Mr. Ralph Hall. <br />The Board reviewed the preliminary plan of Barnes sub- <br />division off Massachusetts Ave. and decided to recommend that <br />the plan be revised to provide connection to Morgan Rd. <br />"THE ORCHARDS <br />HALL <br />The future of Emerson Rd. was discussed next. It was <br />decided to continue the discussion after the public hearing EMERSON RD. <br />and some of the other items on the agenda had been dealt with. <br />At 8:00 p.m. the Board held an advertised public hear- <br />ing on the definitive subdivision plan of Oak Park subdivision. <br />About 19 persons attended. Mr. Sarteriale outlined on the map <br />the extent of the subdivision and introduced his associates, <br />Messrs. Zygarmy and Prelack. Dr. Rosenthal questioned the <br />wisdom of placing the exit from the subdivision opposite York <br />St. Mr. Steeves requested that in any future development of <br />this land the possibility of developing his land adjacent be <br />taken into account. Chairman Bryson outlined the purposes <br />and limitations of public hearing. Mrs. MacKearney inquired <br />about the corner rounding at her property on Grant St. Ques- <br />tions were asked regarding a second entrance to the land <br />across Vine Brook and about the notification of the Board's <br />action on this subdivision. The hearing was declared closed <br />at 8:25 p.m. A letter from John J. Carroll, Town Engineer, <br />dated April 5, 1965, approving the subdivision plan was read. <br />A letter from the Board of Health, dated March 15, 1965 <br />approving the subdivision subject to the condition that no <br />floor be less than 1 foot above the nearest street drain was <br />read. <br />Mr. Anthony Ferrari of 24 Leonard Rd., Lexington, and <br />his engineers, Messrs. Mahoney and Axelrod, met with the <br />Board to discuss the proposed subdivision at the end of Leonard <br />Rd. as shown on the preliminary plans dated March 1965 (two <br />sheets). After a discussion of the preliminary plan, includ- <br />ing the possibility of extending Leonard Rd. to Third St. or <br />of a pedestrian easement to Third St., and of the fact that <br />the proposed extension would make Leonard Rd. a dead-end street <br />760 ft. long, it was decided that the Planning Board would <br />OAK PARK SUB- <br />DIVISION HEARING <br />BUSA <br />LEONARD RD.
