20 <br />Next elide. <br />This is the Boston Manufacturers Mutual. This <br />: their home office which is in Waltham. N6t many <br />of you have probably seen this. This is in the trees <br />up off of the highway right next to the Sanborn Build- <br />ing on 128 in. Waltham, just over the Lexington border. <br />It does not show from the highway, but this is <br />an office building -mostly. an one floor it also has, <br />a small two-story section with a cafeteria with plate- <br />glass windows overlooking the reservoir. <br />It bas,a large courtyard in the middle with <br />gardens and trees and pathways. <br />The entire building surrounds this courtyard. <br />Actually it is much more -;attractive than a great many <br />homes <br />Next slide. <br />This is the Polaroid Building. This type of <br />building would not be built here. This is a building -- <br />this was an attempt of architects to make a building <br />look other than another three-story; building. <br />You are all familiar with the three-story <br />buildings with just row on row of sash. Here they <br />attempted putting slate at the bottom and so forth <br />and that was to make it look a. little different. <br />
