It has been proven by compezies like Sylvania <br />and RCA and AYaO, who have recently .moved into this <br />area, that there is something about Boston whiff is <br />a: more attractive climate for the teohnioal people$ <br />for people who perhaps live on a higher intellectual <br />level than the average employee. <br />Hence, it has been easier to attract a better <br />grade of scientific and technical personnel in the,< <br />Boston area. <br />That is why we have had Sylvania moving away, <br />from research facilities which they originally intended <br />to establish in Wayside, Long Island; RCA moving in. <br />with several Divisions; Avco coming in with -a $15 <br />million research.park in Wilmington. <br />This is a tendency which has,been taking place. <br />It is something that -- the trend started several years <br />ago and seems to be accelerating. <br />Now., again., we have one of the very great assets <br />here of Route 2 being expressed into Cambridge. <br />As a.matter of fact, one of the principal <br />questions that we are asked by many of these companies <br />looking for research facilities is How far is it from <br />M.I.T., or what is the time to M.I.T.? Flow long does <br />it take to get there? <br />
