PLANNING BOARD MEETING
I
March 26, 1958
A special meeting of the Lexington Planning Board
was held in the Town Engineer's Room, Town Office Building,
on Wednesday, March 26, 1958 at 8s00 p.m. Present were
Chairman Grindle, Members Burnell and Soule, and Planning
Director Snow.
At 8sO5 p.m. the Board held a public hearing rela-
tive to the application of Frank DeFelice for approval of a
definitive subdivision plan entitled "Part of Liberty Heights
Lexington, Mass.", said subdivision including the construction
of Ann Street in a northerly direction from Taft Avenue for a
distance of 120 feet. Present were Mr. Frank DeFelice of 57
Taft Avenue, Mr. and Mrs. Mario Gallini of 55 Taft Avenue,
and Mr. William H. Melody of 15 Holland Street. The Chairman
read the notice of the hearing as it was sent to all property
owners deemed to be affected and as it was published in the
March 6, 1958 issue of the Lexington Minute -man. The Chair-
man then explained the procedure in conducting the hearing
and called upon Mr. DeFelice to explain his plan.
It was stated that Mr. DeFelice owned a parcel of land
comprising three cngtiguous lost, Nos. 108, 109, and 124,
each 301 x 90' in size, the first two lots fronting on Taft
Avenue, and the third, Lot 124, fronting on Ann Street, a
so-called "paper" street. Mr. DeFelice said he wished to sub-
divide his property into two lots, one fronting on Taft Avenue
for 60 feet and having an area of 3840 sq. ft., the second
fronting on Ann Street for 56 feet and having 4260 sq. ft. It
was pointed out to Mr. DeFelice that while the Flaming Board
could approve the plan for constructing Ann Street, he would
still have to petition the Board of Appeals for a variance ta=
subdivide his property as set forth above.
Mr. and Mrs. Gallini wished to be assured that they
would not have to pay for any of the cost for constructing Ann
Street. Mr. DeFelice stated that he was paying all costs. Mr.
Melody asked if the temporary turnaround was to be constructed
entirely within the right of way. He was told by members of
the Board that this was so. Mrs. Gallini wished to know about
the proposed grades of Ann Street in relation to her driveway.
Members of the Board explained to her the relation between the
existing and proposed road grades. There being no further
questions, the hearing was declared closed at 8%25 p.m., and
the plans taken under advisement.
PART OF
LIBERTY
HEIGHTS
m
' Approved by the Board were the following bills which BILIS
had been presented for payment: Spaulding -Moss Co., ink and
