1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />PLAMNG BOARD MEETING <br />Monday, January 17, 1955 <br />Present: Adams, Grindle, Hathaway, Irwin, Jaquith, Ripley - Snow, Stevens. <br />Meeting opened at 8 o'clock. <br />Bill <br />Foto -Beam, Inc., 2 doz. drafting pencils, $2.40. Unanimously voted <br />that the bill be paid. <br />Form C <br />Application for Approval of Definitive Plan presented by the Boston <br />Edison Co. for Antonio Busa. Subdivision plan entitled, "Subdivision Plan of <br />Land in Lexington, Mass. belonging to Antonio Busa," dated Jan. 6, 1955, T. L. <br />Hughes, C,.E. Plan shows "Lot All to be used for a sub -station for The Edison <br />Company and a 40 -foot easement to provide access from Lowell Street. <br />It was moved by Mr. Hathaway, seconded by Mr. Irwin, and unanimously <br />VOTED: that the date for a public hearing on the application of An- <br />tonio Busa for definitive approval of a subdivision plan off <br />Lowell Street be set for Monday, Jan, 31, 1955 at 8 p.m. <br />It was decided to notify landowners on opposite side of Lowell Street from Mrs. <br />Reed's home to Summer Street as well as all abuttors to the Busa subdivision. <br />Reiss Associates <br />Mr. Ernest Reiss of Reiss Associates, Inc. appeared for informal dis- <br />cussion on change of zoning from R-1 to M-1 on land of Mr. Wagner at Westview <br />St. and Hinchey Road. Mr. Reiss is interested in building a one-story `manu- <br />facturing plant which would at this time require a minimum of 100,000 ft. to <br />bs,* expanded in a year or two another 100,000 ft., building to cost in the <br />neighborhood of $800,000. Plant is on a working schedule of 24 hours, 5 days a <br />week, and employs approximately 250 unskilled help, the majority of which be <br />believes would remain with the company, traveling from Newton, Watertown and <br />neighboring towns. Mr. Reiss stated that the plant would not in any way con- <br />flict with M-1 restrictions and that he would bring in plans to show to the <br />Board. Mr. Reiss also stated that time is of the essence with him and that his <br />option to buy is limited to April 15th. <br />Moore <br />Mr. Mark Moore Jr., 3 Diehl road, Lexington, representing Moore Realty <br />Trust, appeared for informal discussion of a preliminary plan for the subdivi- <br />sion of the old Meagher property and several adjacent lots to the southeast, <br />plan dated January, 1955, Fred A. Joyce, C.E. Mr. Moore sought Board's approval <br />of a variance from minim= lot area and frontage required by the Lexington Zon- <br />ing By-law. He was advised that the Board has jurisdiction over roads, but not <br />over lot changes. The plan was held over for further study. <br />
