1
n
PLANNING BOARD MEETING
Monday, May 24, 1954
11 Present: Adams, Grindle, Hathaway, Irwin, Jaquith, Ripley - Stevens.
Meeting opened at 7:45 o'clock.
Lexington Construction Co.
After discussion re: request of Lexington Construction Co. for per-
mission to waive restrictions on subdivision of Robinson Hill, on motion of
Mr. Hathaway, seconded by Mr. Grindle, it was
VOTED: that no waivers be made on subdivision control law as it
pertains to tentative plan involved as a matter of policy
Of the present Board.
Hearings - Board of Appeals
Mr. Adams read the notices of hearings to be held by the Board of
Appeals on Thursday, May 26th. The only, one of interest was that of petition
of Lexington Sand & Gravel - Mr. Linehan for permission to remove sand and
gravel. It was felt that a member of the Planning Board should be present to
express the opinion of the Board that they would like to see grades suitable
to surrounding territory and would like to see them regulated as reasonably
as possible to keep the town looking well.
WXa hburn
Mr. Perry Norton presented Mr. Charles Washburn of 469 Summer St., New
Bedford, Mass. as applicant for the position'of permanent employee. Mr. Wash-
burn has an M.C.P. degree from M.I.T. and Ph.B in biological sciences from
Brown University. Has had experience in planning work at Cleveland, Ohio un-
der the supervision of Mr. Perry Norton which involved special planning studies'
for a number of 60 -odd member communities in land use, parking, zoning, indus-
trial development, growth, etc. Has served with the U.S.Army and is now in the
Army Reserve. Would like very much to locate in this vicinity.
Stevens
Advised the Board to return Lexington Construction tentative plan on
which waivers were asked as rejected stating s the policy of the
Board to make no changes in the subdivision rules at this time. On application
of Mr. Potter on Land Case #18315, inasmuch as he was combining Lot 8 with Lot
5 which wo d take care of the frontage, the plan was deemed O.K.
Ross
Mr. Nylander and Mrs. A. A. Ross of 104 Autumn St. Malden submitted
informal plan, Miller & Nylander, showing land off Route 12, Constitution, Ox-
bow and Ross Roads. Taken under advisement.
