1 <br />1 <br />PLANNING BOARD- MEETING <br />Monday, Jan, 18, 1954 <br />Present: Adams, Grindle, Hathaway, Irwin, Potter, Ripley - Burns, Stevens. <br />Meeting opened at 7:45 otclock. <br />Bill <br />-Bill-presented by Mr. John Lichtenberg, bringing population map <br />to date, $52.20. Unanimously voted the bill be paid. <br />Barnes <br />Mr. and Mrs. George L. Barnes of 2318 Mass. ave, appeared for in- <br />formal discussion re: a plan for subdivision which they had in mind. Mr. <br />Adams explained the regular procedure for subdivision. Mr. Barnes wished <br />to know if it would be necessary to'develop an area quickly or if it <br />could be done slowly. Was told that as long as the work was done accord- <br />ing to specifications the time was not important. <br />Lexington Construction Co. <br />A letter from Mr. Stevens was read re: Lexington Construction Co. <br />in which the position of both lawyers involved was stated. It was Mr. <br />Stevens' opinion that the Board should not be influenced by this situation <br />as it was for the lawyers to settle, but to give tentAtive'approval to the <br />plan if it so desires. Newgent would be liable for damage, not the town. <br />Mr. Hathaway moved, Mr. Potter seconded, that tentative approval be given <br />providing 1. The road be finished to the end of'Diana Lane as laid out; <br />2. Woodbury road be finished to Massachusetts avenue; and 3. That balance <br />of profile from Mass, ave. to Station .0 on Road "All be submitted showing <br />proper grades. Unanimously voted. <br />Letter read from Mr. Newgent requesting time for finishing corner <br />bounds on Patterson road be extended until spring. Mr. Grindle moved, Mr. <br />Potter seconded, that the time for finished stone corner bounds on Patter- <br />son road be suspended from January lst to April 1st, but they must be in <br />at that time. So voted. <br />Yeomans <br />Mr. Funk Yeomans of Bedford appeared <br />of land off Columbus street with insufficient <br />wished to build. This plan left for further <br />Philemon St. <br />for advice re a large lot <br />street frontage on which he <br />study. <br />Plan left for signature of Board as not requiring approval of lot <br />on Philemon street, a small portion of which is in Lexington with the re- <br />mainder in Arlington. This was left for further information as to who <br />brought in the plan and as to the attitude of the Tom of Arlington. <br />Selectmen <br />At 9:30 the entire Board adjourned to a general meeting with the <br />
