L7 <br />PLANNING BOARD MEETING <br />' Thursday, March 12,1953 <br />Present: Adams, Hathaway, Irwin, Potter. <br />Meeting opened at 8:05 o'clock. <br />Bearing - Site & Shelter <br />Public hearing was held on -petition of Site & Shelter for tentative <br />approval of extension of Barberry road and construction of Stonewall road, <br />plan by Miller & Nylander-dated March 103 1953. Mrs. Fletcher and Mr. More- <br />house appeared for petitioner. Mr. Potter moved, Mr. Hathaway seconded that <br />the plan be approved subject to approval by Mr. Burns and Board of Health. <br />So voted. <br />Hearing - "Street" <br />Public hearing opened on definition of "Street" as appearing on town <br />warrant. No proponents, no opponents. Hearing.closed. <br />Acceptance of Streets <br />Mr. Adams presented a letter for signatures in acceptance of Gleason <br />road from Fuller road to North Hancock street; Bartlett avenue, entire <br />length; Edison Way, from Massachusetts avenue to Depot Square. There was <br />some dissention among the Board members, some feeling that there.was no need <br />of a road, only parking space, while some felt they should go along with the <br />Board of Selectmen on the proposed "Edison Way% Mr. Adams stated he thought <br />the agreement with B & M and other property owners was for a road. In view <br />of the difference of opininn the letter was held over until Saturday morn- <br />ing when there would be a meeting with the Board of Selectmen and when it <br />was hoped the full Board would be present. The other streets were O.Vd. <br />Recreation <br />Mr. Adams stated that Mr. Garrity had asked the Board's approval of <br />the Grassland street recreational area. As there was no map available or <br />definition of the area, the plan was approved in principle but it was felt <br />more definite information should be given before final approval. <br />Decisions - Abbots Y <br />Because of the confusion in the minds of the signers of this peti- <br />tion, the Board felt it should not recommend at this time. <br />ews - Zitso <br />meeting. <br />M-1 <br />Decision on Andrews and Zitso petitions was held over until the next <br />The Board felt they should stay with this.
