PLANNING BOARD MEETING
' Monday, March 9, 1953
Present: Adams, Hathaway, Irwin, Potter.
Meeting opened at 7:45 o'clock.
C
Mr. Tropeano and Mr. Nylander appeared with plan for Cary Develop-
ment on which they had added drainage and on which they desired the Board's
opinion as to best location for second entrance. Were asked to leave plan
that Mr. Burns might be consulted for his decision.
Abbott Sprag
A group of neighbors appeared re: petition of Abbott Spray for change
in zoning and were temporarily satisfied. Mr. Abbott aui Mr. Baskin after
some discussion were advised to withdraw their petition for the time being
altho no formal decision was made.
Assessors
Messrs. Emery, Burnham, Cass and Cronin of the Board of Assessors
met for informal discussion on assessment of residential land in business
zones. The assessors feel that full taxation cannot be made without the
' use. The situation will receive further study.
McConchie
Mr. McConchie and Mr. Nylander appeared for tentative approval of
plan on Burlington street by Miller and Nylander, dated Feb. 51 1953, to
which they had added surface drainage. Mr. Potter moved, Mr. Irwin seconded
that tentative approval be given. So voted.
Hearings
As a result of the hearings held Thursday, March 5, it was voted not
to recommend the petition of Rafferty and. Farley as it is against the gen-
eral policy of having two restaurants so close together. It was felt that
the Board should go along with the Ross petition sine she had not received
notification and lived out of town. With regard to the other petitions it
was felt that the full Board should be present so decisions were postponed
until a future meeting.
Meeting adjourned at 10 o'clock until Thursday.. March 12.
ID. D. Hathaway,
Clerk
11M 07
