PLANNING BOARD MEETING <br />' Monday, March 9, 1953 <br />Present: Adams, Hathaway, Irwin, Potter. <br />Meeting opened at 7:45 o'clock. <br />C <br />Mr. Tropeano and Mr. Nylander appeared with plan for Cary Develop- <br />ment on which they had added drainage and on which they desired the Board's <br />opinion as to best location for second entrance. Were asked to leave plan <br />that Mr. Burns might be consulted for his decision. <br />Abbott Sprag <br />A group of neighbors appeared re: petition of Abbott Spray for change <br />in zoning and were temporarily satisfied. Mr. Abbott aui Mr. Baskin after <br />some discussion were advised to withdraw their petition for the time being <br />altho no formal decision was made. <br />Assessors <br />Messrs. Emery, Burnham, Cass and Cronin of the Board of Assessors <br />met for informal discussion on assessment of residential land in business <br />zones. The assessors feel that full taxation cannot be made without the <br />' use. The situation will receive further study. <br />McConchie <br />Mr. McConchie and Mr. Nylander appeared for tentative approval of <br />plan on Burlington street by Miller and Nylander, dated Feb. 51 1953, to <br />which they had added surface drainage. Mr. Potter moved, Mr. Irwin seconded <br />that tentative approval be given. So voted. <br />Hearings <br />As a result of the hearings held Thursday, March 5, it was voted not <br />to recommend the petition of Rafferty and. Farley as it is against the gen- <br />eral policy of having two restaurants so close together. It was felt that <br />the Board should go along with the Ross petition sine she had not received <br />notification and lived out of town. With regard to the other petitions it <br />was felt that the full Board should be present so decisions were postponed <br />until a future meeting. <br />Meeting adjourned at 10 o'clock until Thursday..
