PLANNIMG BOARD MEETING <br />' Monday, January 29,1953 <br />Presents Adams, Hathaway, Irwin, Johnson, Potter, Ripley. <br />Meeting opened at 7:45 o'clock. <br />M-1 Zone <br />Discussion was held on the advisability of creating an M-1 zone in the <br />area westerly of R-128, partly because of increased income and partly because <br />the area will not be suitable for desirable residential building. It was <br />moved by Mr. Johnson, seconded by Mr. Potter, that an area described approxi- <br />mately as bounded on the east by Route 128, southerly by Lincoln street, west- <br />erly by Lincoln line, and northerly by Mass. Ave. and Marrett street. Unani- <br />mously voted. Mr. Ripley proposed an amendment to this to keep a strip 200 <br />feet deep fronting on Lincoln St. between Rt. 128and northerly edge of Mill <br />Street as residential. So voted. <br />Moved by Mr. Johnson, seconded by Mr. Hathaway that present M-1 district <br />be extended: easterly to a line 200 feet from and parallel to Bedford street and <br />to Westview street; westerly to Wood street and to a line joining Route 128 and <br />Wood street at their closest approach northerly at the end of Bates road and <br />westerly to the Bedford line. <br />' Newgent - Lexington Construction Co. <br />Mr. Newgent appeared for information regarding his Robinson Hills devel- <br />opment. He was informed that it was the opinion of the Planning Board that he <br />should be connected with the sewer, that he should have two roads in, and that <br />the road should be built clear out to the main road, Mass. Ave. <br />Universal Devel.2=nt Co. <br />Mr. Ducharme appeared with his plans changed to conform more nearly to the <br />request of the Planning Board - levels had been raised and the road had been <br />moved 18 feet. Tentative approval was given on 18 lots subject to approval by <br />Mr. Burns and the Board of Health. <br />Baskin <br />Mr. Miller appeared for tentative approval of plans and profiles of <br />development on Williams road, Miller & Nylander, Eng., dated January 1953. <br />Plans tentatively approved subject to approval by Mr. Burns and Board of Health. <br />Bills <br />Bills were presented as follows: Adams Press, advertising hearing for <br />Ridge Associates, two weeks, $5.00. Rita McNamara, typing agreements, $4*00. <br />Louise M. Baker, secretarial service Jan. 5, 12, 19, 25 * $5.00, $20, unani- <br />mously voted the bills be paid. <br />
