MEETING OF PLAKNING BOARD '
November 19, 1946
Present: Messrs. Worthen, Houdlette, Nickerson, Ferguson,
Richards and Cromwell.
Appropriation
Voted, to ask for the same appropriation in 1947 as
in 1946, namely $250.
School Sites Committee
It was decided to advise Mr. Roland Greeley that the
Planning Board believed the school sites problem was in
capable hands, that we had no suggestions to make but that
we would be glad to cooperate if requested.
Parking Project
The following thoughts were evolved in the discussion
of the Parking Project. '
Thus far the project has been discussed primarily
as a parking project with other related matters such as
streets, re -zoning, etc. as incidental. Being considered
this way all the expense of new streets and other changes
are viewed as contributing the cost of the parking area.
If none of the changes have any value except the parking
area then the latter will be very expensive. However, the
parking area is simply one part of a much larger program
and it would be neither fair nor realistic to charge all
costs to parking itself. The designation "parking project"
und►aly emphasizes only one part of a larger plan.
It was decided that the Planning Board would attempt
to prepare a general outline of a layout with a plan of
suggested procedure which it favors for presentation to the
Selectmen. If this meets with favor the Board is willing
to proceed with more detailed study.
lies 0tfully u tted
Cl erk
n
