MEETING OF PLANNING BOARD
October 15, 1945
Present
Messrs. Richards, Worthen, Nickerson and Cromwell.
Edward W. Higgins
The Board met with Mr. Higgins and representatives of
Olmsted Brothers. Mr. Higgins has indicated in a letter to Mr.
Worthen dated October 2, 1945 plans to develop an area of 40
acres on the northerly side of Maple Street. He brought to the
meeting and left with the Planning Board a map parked as follows;
Ingleside Property of E. W. Higgins, Lexington, Massachusetts,
Preliminary Plan, October 1, 1945.
The Board approved in general of the lay out, especially
as regards the configuration of the street plan. The Board
suggested the addition of a turn -around on a dead end street and
understood that this would be provided for.
1
The Board is concerned over the fact that not all of the
lots can make :connections with existing or prospective sewer lines.
It appears that only 33 will feed into the main trunk sewer and
that an additional 21 will feed into the Maple Street sewer when ,
and if this is built. 27, it is believed, can never be
connected with a sewer line. The Board, having in mind the
existing conditions in the Manor, feels that before this
proposed development should be given approval it should be
demonstrated that local drainage conditions aaw-likely to be adequate
to provide for the 27 lots that can not be connected with a
sewer.
Mr. Higgins left with us a plan of street profiles.
He told us that some further revisions of these profiles might be
made before presenting them for final acceptance.
Resp etfully mittt(ed, Clerk
U
n
