PLANNING BOARD MEETING <br />July 12, 1944 ' <br />Presents All members. <br />Street Signs <br />The Board traveled by car over a good part of the main <br />highways of Lexington and made notes on the condition of <br />existing street and route signs and on the desirability of <br />location. They also made notes of locations where signs should <br />be placed. <br />Later they discussed this:.matter with Mr. Paxton. He <br />had been aware of the poor condition of signs and appreciated <br />the Board's work. The. Board offered to make a more complete <br />survey if he wished and he said this would be of great assistance. <br />The Board is to meet ©n Tuesday, July 18, to continue its <br />survey of signs. <br />Water Main <br />Mr. Paxton told the Board that a <br />projected between Massachusetts Avenue <br />He suggests that as long as this will <br />excavation it would be a good idea to <br />road which the water main can follow. <br />follow Fottler Avenue to Hillcrest an <br />new water main is <br />and Lowell Street* <br />require considerable <br />lay out or build a <br />His proposed route would <br />d thence to Lowell Street. <br />Mosquito Control <br />It was voted to write to the Board of Health suggesting <br />that the present would be a good time to inaugurate a program <br />of mosquito control. <br />Postwar Plans <br />It was voted to record the present intention of the Board <br />to.take up with the Selectmen in the fall the Board's report of <br />October 25, 1943 on postwar plans. <br />Next Meeting <br />The next meeting is to be on July 18, 1944 to complete the <br />survey of street signs. <br />Resp tfully,s itted, <br />Clerk <br />
