1 <br />D <br />PLANNING BOARD MEETING <br />DECEMBER 4th, 1939. <br />A meeting of the Planning Board was held on Dec. 4th, <br />19399 at 7:30 P.M. Messrs. Ferguson, Worthen and Nickerson <br />were present. <br />The minutes of the previous meeting were read and <br />approved. <br />Mr. Worthen reported that Mr. Fletcher. Taft had been "For Sales <br />engaged to collect data re property for sale in the town property <br />and to plot same on a map. map. <br />The Board was advised that the police department has Speed <br />been directed to prepare signs at entrances to Lexington limit, <br />to the effect that speed limits would be enforced, this <br />In accordance with our recent report to the Selectmen. <br />Mr. Eugene Viano advised us that he will present his Viano <br />petition for a hearing regarding his proposed zone change zone change <br />for property on Vine Brook Road from R.1 to R.3 early in <br />January. <br />At 8:30 P.M. the Chamber of Commerce representatives <br />met the Board in answer to our invitation for the purpose <br />of discussing possible solutions to traffic and parking Traffic <br />problems near the center. Messrs. Johnson, Couette and . and <br />Custance represented the Chamber of Commerce, the first two parking <br />as chairmen of a particular Committee to study these <br />problems and the Chairman of the real estate committee <br />respectively. <br />Mr. Custance presented a carefully mapped plan show. <br />ing a proposed street from Waltham Street to Muzzey Street, <br />from Muzzey Street to Clarke Street, No. Hancock Street to <br />Merriam St., Merriam Street to Grant Street, Grant Street <br />to Woburn Street and one from Mass. Ave. crossing Vine Brook <br />Road and curving down to Waltham Street just beyond the <br />Catholic Clubhouse. The subject matter of most of all of <br />these has been studied by this and previous planning boards <br />and we encouraged the Chamber of Commerce representatives <br />to prepare further data in this regard and consult with us <br />again Monday, December 18 at 8 P.
