PLS�T_?TNT ING BOAhD HEARING <br />Eric S. Peterson <br />Yovember 19,1936 <br />Planning Board Hearing was held in the Selectmen's <br />boom of the Town Office Building, Lexington, Thursday, November <br />193. 1936, at 8:00 P. y, upon the petition of Eric S. Peterson. <br />4essrs. Borden, Kimball, Ferguson and Ellis were present. The <br />petition was to amend the Zoning By -Law and T,iap by changing <br />from an R-.1 District to a C.1 Listrict the area bounded and <br />described as folloArs:- <br />"Beginning at a point 200 feet easterly of the <br />,junction of the easterTy line of Blossom Street with <br />the southerly line of the new Concord. Highway, thence <br />easterly along the southerly line of the Concord <br />lli(;hway 200 feet, and for a depth of 100 feet through- <br />out." <br />Iir. 13ord.en declared the hearing open and Kr. Kimball <br />read the notice of hearing which had been published in the <br />November 4th issue of the Lexington 'Minuteman and sent to <br />property owners affected by the petition. <br />,.r. Roy Peterson, son of Eric Peterson, stated that <br />there Tnaasn►t much to say in regard to the petition as it <br />was the same as presented before .except that the location <br />had been moved 200 feet down from the corner. He intends <br />to cut down the bank on the corner of Blossom Street and <br />cut out on the easter_ltr side to make the driveway a better <br />angle ^ri.th the road. He presented drawings showing the <br />former and present locations. P+ir. Peterson showed snapshots <br />of the location as it is now and some of filling stations <br />on the ",'estchester Parkway in T?ew York and stated that he <br />intends to have his of the same design. <br />,:r. Jorden asked if he still intended to use field <br />stone and. 1rr. Peterson rexilied that he did. <br />I`_r. Borden then asked if there were others who wished <br />to speak either in favor or in opposition. <br />i,:r. Hobert L. Ruder spoke in favor of the petition and <br />stated that he had made a study of this situation and believed <br />that Lr. Peterson had an ideal location and thinks that it is <br />far enough from the Childs location that if the Town feels <br />that only two should be granted, this should be the second <br />one. He also felt that this location was better in many ways <br />than the Childs location, as it is not at an intersection <br />and when the bluff is taken down, feels that it will be a <br />100J location. He stated that he thought the location asked <br />for in the present petition was even better than the previous <br />one and ,vas thorouEhl-r in favor of the change. <br />1; r. Borden asked ar. Peterson if he would agree to the <br />changing of his area, if the change is granted, from a 0.1 <br />Listrict to a T.1 ?)istrict, and Pair. Peterson replied that he <br />certainly laou.ld agree and informed the Board that he had stated <br />
