P, <br />1 <br />PLANNING BOARD MEETING <br />SEPTEMBER 25, 1939. <br />A meeting of the Planning Board was held in the Town <br />Office Building on September 25th, at 8 P. M. <br />All members present, except Mr. Kimball. <br />Mr. Chapin, M.I.T. studen of town planning, was em- <br />ployed by the Board to make studies this summer, the results <br />of which were presented at this meeting as followss <br />(1) A 1" - 100t scale map of proposed future connecting <br />of present town property at the playground, Aldrich estate, <br />town dump and old reservoir. <br />(2) A booklet survey of the area between Waltham Street <br />and Muzzey Street adjadent to the business zone. This sur- <br />vey was made with an eye to future parking facilities in <br />this area. <br />(3) A 1" - 1001 scale map of Great Meadows. This map <br />was made so we would be prepared with definite plans for <br />creating a pond area if the opportunity should arise. <br />The Clerk was instructed to file this data for future <br />reference. <br />Aldrich <br />Estate <br />Parking, <br />Great <br />Meadows <br />Mr. Ferguson,as committee, reported progress in <br />studying methods of reducing speed of auto traffic in Lex- Traffic <br />ington, It was voted that Mr. Ferguson convey to the control <br />Selectmen that the Planning Board was in favor of enforcing <br />the State speed laws in this town. <br />Mr. Worthen reported some response from the banks in <br />providing listings of property for sale which the Board <br />requested in line with efforts to be prepared to advise <br />intelligently when new public utilities were requested. <br />Mr. Wrightington, Town Counsel, visited the meeting <br />to see if the Board would vote to pursue the Loam Removal Loam <br />Case to the State Supreme Court. VOTED That the Planning Stripping <br />Board is unanimously in favor of the town prosecuting this <br />case to the Mass. Supreme Court, <br />Next Meeting, Monday, October 9th, at 8 P.
