PLANNING BOARD MEETING <br />' JULY 26, 1939, <br />A meeting of the Planning Board was held on July 26, <br />1939, at 8:00 P. M. <br />Article 14 in the Warrant for the Town Meeting July <br />27th was discussed, this being the proposed change in the <br />Zoning By --Laws to create an R,3 zone for the accommodation <br />of apartment houses. It was decided that Mr. Ellis should <br />present the vote, Mr. Ferguson the report and Mr, Greeley <br />was asked to explain several points. <br />Mr. Greeley reported that a student, Stuart Chapin, <br />had been recommended by the planning department at M.I.T. <br />for possibly doing work for tle Planning Board this summer. <br />Mr. Greeley will hire him if he considers him the right man <br />and start him at planning work as followst <br />(1) Traffic situation and parking at Lexington Center. <br />( ) Tying the Aldrich estate donated by Mr. Hayden into <br />our general scheme. <br />(3) Lexington Meadows, <br />R.3 <br />Apartment <br />House Zone <br />Future <br />Planning <br />' Mr. Ferguson raised the question of some sort of Auto <br />police or sign 4ontrol to prevent excessive speeding through Traffic <br />Lexington. The Board directed the Clerk to arrange a meet- <br />ing with the Selectmen in this regard. <br />The meeting adjourned at 10:15 P.M. <br />Respectfully submitted: <br />Clerk. <br />1 <br />
