U <br />1 <br />PLANNING BOARD MEETING <br />May 19, 1938 <br />Present:- All members except Mr. Ellis. <br />Mr. Kraetzer reported that a citizen asked him to inquire <br />if work could be started to create a large minimum setback for <br />residences'in this Town. <br />The Board of Survey wishes to discuss procedure under <br />Chapter 211 with us and designated May 24th at 9:00 P. M. Mr. <br />Greeley will not be here at that time so the Clerk is instruct-' <br />ed to notify the Board of Survey that we will meet them Tuesday, <br />May 31st at 9:00 P. M'. Unless the Clerk notifies the members <br />to the contrary, the meeting will be held on that date. <br />Lot Area <br />Chapter <br />211 <br />Moved and seconded that the Clerk write the Board of Survey <br />that we are proceeding to spend part of the 1938 appropriation <br />to study recent developments in the Town and we would appreciate <br />data from them regarding the present status of the Wellington Develop - <br />Farm, Waugh and Lowe (Reed Street) developments. Carried. ments <br />Moved and seconded that a letter be written to Mr. Otis <br />Feloes at Metropolitan Planning Division, 20 Somerset Street, <br />Boston, thanking him for recent information that the State has <br />decided no exact location for the crossing of Mass. Avenue by <br />the Lowell Turnpike, and that we ask Mr. Feloes to notify us <br />if and when anything definite is anticipated in this connection. <br />Carried, This point was raised by a letter from a Mr. Truesdell <br />of East Lexington who had been informed that a grade crossing <br />was intended at Pleasant Street, Mr. Truesdell was agitated <br />and intended to circulate a petition against such action. <br />Lowell <br />Turnpike <br />Mr. Greeley and Mr. Kimball were authorized by unanimous <br />vote to prepare a contract retaining Mr. Steiner for work this <br />Steiner <br />suAm.er# contract to be approved by Town'Counsel and work to be <br />laid out by Messrs. Greeley and Kimball. <br />The Clerk was instructed to. write Mr. Raymond inquiring <br />is Section 15 of the Plumbing Laws of 1934 affecting cesspool <br />Sewage <br />and septic tank regulations were being enforced. <br />Disposal <br />Moved and seconded that the Clerk prepare a notice of <br />hearing on article for lot area increase and send to Minuteman <br />for publication so a hearing can be held June 13th at 8:00 P.M. <br />Lot Area <br />at Selectmen's Room. Carried. Clerk was also to append an <br />explanatory paragraph and send copy to each Town Meeting <br />Member. <br />The Clerk was instructed to prepare sketch for use at' <br />proposed joint meeting with Appropriation Committee Mondays <br />June 6th at 7:45 P.
