PLANNING BOARD MEETING
March 11, 1938
Present:- All members.
Meeting was called to order at 8:25 P. M. by Chairman
greeley .
The Planning Board was organized for the coming year. Organiza-
William Roger Greeley was unanimously elected Chairman for tion
1938 and Donald E. Nickerson Clerk.
It was moved and seconded that a copy of the minutes of
each meeting be mailed to each member by the Clerk. Unanimously
carried.
A communication from Harry G Seligman, attorney to Mr.
L. J. Bennett, was read. Mr. Seligman represents Mr. Rubin,
the owner of some land near the Edison Company plan which he
Parking
is anxious to rent to the Town for parking purposes. Mr.
Kraetzer agreed to communicate with Mr. Bennett in this regard.
A letter was received from Mrs. Johnson who owns several
lots of land at Colonial Heights near the corner of Mass.
Avenue and Wood Street. She was advised by the Town Engineer
that it would be impossible for her to build a house until
Colonial
proposed changes in road layouts had been made. Mrs. Johnson
Heights
'
was much disturbed and Mr. Greeley undertook to explain the
true situation and to express the boardIs willingness to co-
operate with Mrs. Johnson.
Mr. Kimball read a'report designed to cover the board's
Lot Area
recommendations to the coming Town Meeting in regard to the
&
article proposing an increase in minimum lot sizes. It was
Frontage
voted to consider this report more fully next meeting.
Mr. Kimball made a suggestion that the Planning Board
offer to pay P'ir. Adams of the Lexington Minuteman $10.00 for
printing in the paper a communication from Mr. Bennett, Chair-
man of the Committee, which studied Article 211 recently. Mr.
Kimball had urged Mr. Bennett to make this communication think-
ing it would clarify the matter to the Town Meeting Members
on the eve of its reconsideration in the coming meeting. The
Board informally felt that a bad precedent would be establish-
ed by offering to pay for the printing.
A plan for subdivision of land owned by L.S. & G.E. Develop -
Teeter on the Concord Turnpike was examined and left for a me nts
later meeting after the site should be viewed.
Mr. Kimball was thanked by the Board for his services as
Clerk for the past years. v'A,. Ellis was thanked by the Board
' for his work in procuring and hanging the large map of the
Town on the stage at Cary Memorial Building.
14eeting was closed at 10:00 P.
