PLANNING BOARD MEETING
October 2, 1936
I
Present:- IN7essrs. Borden, Ellis, Ferguson, Nickerson, Sellars
and Kimball.
After the disposal of routine matters, the discussion
centered chiefly around the necessity for creating a public
interest, and understanding, of the problems handled by the
Planning Board. The suggestion that an advisory committee of
not over twenty members, representing a cross section of the
Town, to be selected or appointed by other than the Board was
considered. Such a committee would meet with the Board to Advisory
discuss matters to be brought before the Town and would be Committee
subject to call rather than at stated periods.
As a first step in this direction, it was decided to
arrange for a joint meeting with former Board Members and an
invitation was drafted for a meeting to be held on October
16th.
Mr. Ferguson reported his attendance at the regional
meeting in Concord conducted by the State Planning Board. Regional
The general object of the meeting was to become acquainted Meeting
with the neighboring boards and the aims of the State Board.
I
The meeting adjourned at 9:45 P. M.
Respectfully submitted,
Clerk
1
