PLANNING BOARD MEETING
September 19,1936
' Present:- Messrs. Borden, Ellis, Ferguson, Nickerson, Sellars
and Kimball.
The evidence introduced at the three hearings (O'Connell,
Peterson and Cutler) held September 17th was reviewed and dis-
cussed. Minutes and reports bearing on Mr. O'Connell's past
petitions were scrutinized and while it was recognized that
conditions had changed in respect to the probability of an over-
pass at this point, they had also changed in respect to the near-
by property through the shift from a C-1 to an R-1 District.
Seven vacant stores a few blocks away was sufficient
evidence that further business areas were not required and it was D. J.
Voted:- That the Planning Board does not support Mr. O'Connell's O'Conne
petition to amend the Zoning By -Law and Map and that adverse 11
action be recommended to the Town Meeting.
Since no evidence had been introduced at the hearings
which had not been considered in the preparation of the general
report to the Town, the Board found no reason to change its
views as expressed in that report and therefore voted: -
1. That the Planning Board does not support Mr. Peterson's Eric
petition to amend the Zoning By -Law and Map and that Peterson
adverse action be recommended to the Town Meeting.
2. That the Planning Board does not support Mrs
Cutler's petition to amend the Zoning By -Law and Map, Mrs.
and that adverse action be recommended to the Town Cutler
Meeting.
A general discussion of the points to be covered in the
specific reports was held and I4r. Borden and Mr. Kimball were
delegated to draw up drafts to be considered at an informal
meeting to be held Sunday afternoon.
The meeting adjourned at 6:00 P. M.
Note:- An informal meeting was held Sunday afternoon and final
drafts were prepared and approved, Mr. Borden partici-
pating in the report on Mr. Childs' petition.
Respectfully submitted,
Clerk
1
