PLANNING BOARD MATING
July 2, 1936
' Present: Messrs, Borden, Ellis, Ferguson, Niekerson,,Sellars
and Kimball, and Town Engineer Cosgrove.
Results of the firld study of the areas adjoining the
Concord Turnpike were discussed and approximate layouts of
side road locations were turned over to Mr. Cosgrove for his Concord
guidance in preparing final maps to be presented, together Turnpike
with the Board's recommendations, to the Town for action.
Mr. R. L. Ryder appeared before the Board with a re-
quest that the layout of streets in the general area of Vine
Brook Road, Winthrop Road and so-called South Branch be re-
viewed to the end that a Board of Survey layout of the street
known as Bliss Avenue be abandoned at its southwesterly inter-
section with Vine Brook Road and that a forty foot street be
laid out connecting Vine Brook Road and Winthrop Road Extension
as shown on a diagram presented by Mr. Ryder.
The Board is of the opinion that the Board of Survey lay-
out of a highway from the southerly side of Mass. Avenue and R. L.
following in a southerly direction and generally along the Ryder
South Branch should be continued. It is however of the opinion
that a modification at the intersection at Vine Brook Road is
acceptable. The Board approves in principle the proposed
street connecting Vine Brook Road and Winthrop Road, situated
between the South Branch and Winthrop Road.
Notice of intention to petition for the changing of a
parcel of land located on the Concord Turnpike opposite
Blossom Street from an R.l to a C.1 District, together with
a request for the allocation of the area affected, was re-
ceived from Mr. Eric Peterson.
The area was designated as follows: -
Pleasant St.,both sides from Watertown St. to Old Concord Ave.,
New Concord Turnpike, both sides from Pleasant St. to junction
with Old Concord Avenue,
Old Concord Ave.,both sides from Pleasant St. to junction of
Concord Turnpike,
Waltham Street, both sides from Allen Street to Old Concord Ave.,
Allen Street, both sides,
Blossom Street, both sides,
Wellington Lane, both sides,
Hanson Avenue, both sides,
Garden Avenue, both sides,
Vineyard Avenue, both sides,
Dale Street, both sides,
Moreland Street, both sides to William Street.
Mr. Ellis reported that a 10 x 12 foot map of the Town
' could be obtained by the photostatic process and mounted in
cloth for $95.00. Due to liability of fading, it was re-
commended that a roller be used in place of a flat frame. A,
roller would cost 128.00. An 800 scale map would be used
Peterson
Petition
