1
1
1
PLANNING BOARD MEETING
June 9,1936
Present:- Messrs. Borden, Ellis, Ferguson, Nickerson, Sellars
and Kimball.
Consideration of the possible transfers in that property
located in the rear of the movie block owned by the late
Hallie C. Blake, again opened the question of a proposed street
connecting Waltham, Muzzey and Clarke Streets.
After spending some time on the ground, the Board is of
the opinion that a project to lay down such a street, together
with the development of a parking space for a considerable
number of cars could be worked out fairly easily and satis-
factorily. New
A tentative plan, with property values, will be prepared Street
by the former sub -committee, for later discussion although it
is generally felt by the Board that there is not sufficient
public need to warrant the expenditures at this time and that
immediate action should not be recommended to the Town.
Conversations with Mr. Raymond and fir. Cosgrove indicate
that there is no hope for P. W. A. aid in providing the pro- Town
posed Town Meeting Map. Mr. Ellis is to obtain an estimated Meeting
overall cost based on photostatic reproduction and experimenta- Map
tion will be carried on to settle various questionable details.
The maps and theses submitted by High School students in
the Field and Garden Club contest covering the Concord Turn-
pike development were considered and one entry recommended for
first prize. This later proved to be the work of Thayer Rudd.
It was suggested to the Field and Garden Club that the remain-
ing entries be the subject of more careful consideration by the School
judges meeting in a group and that the Board was not prepared Contest
to recommend beyond the single one referred to. Mr. Borden
will act as the Planning Board representative.
The meeting adjourned at 11:15 P. M.
Respectfully submitted,
Clerk
