PLANNING BOARD MEETING <br />January 30, 1936 <br />Present:- Messrs. Duffy, Borden, Ellis & Kimball. <br />A petition with accompanying signatures having been re- <br />ceived from Mr. Ernest DeVincent, it was voted that his peti- <br />tion to change an area from R.1 to C.1 be referred to Mr. <br />Spencer for verification of assessment valuations. Petitions <br />Telephone conversation developed that Mrs. Cutler is <br />to present her petition at an early date and it was voted that <br />the same action be accorded it. <br />Since it is possible that there may be other suggested <br />amendments, no definite action was taken toward setting dates <br />for hearings. <br />2/1/36 Note:- Mrs. Cutler's petition was received by <br />the clerk and both petitions referred to Mr. Spencer, <br />Mr. Duffy reported advice from Mr. Merriam that the <br />plans for the Limited Apartment had not been approved and <br />that the proposed zoning changes would not be requested. It Limited <br />was moved that the Board take no further action on this sub- Apart <br />ject and that the case be closed. ments <br />Due to illness and other reasons the Board of Select- <br />men were unable to meet with the Planftfng Board to discuss <br />' a proposed amendment covering the removal of sod; loam and <br />gravel. A joint meeting will be held on Tuesday, February <br />4th in the Selectmen's Room for this purpose. Further dis- <br />cussion of the advisability of action toward a special set- <br />back for the Concord Turnpike will also be brought before <br />this meeting. <br />A letter of resignation was received from Mr. Sheldon <br />A. Robinson who is obliged to leave the Board through change <br />in residence. The Board expressed its regrets in losing the <br />valuable assistance, council and faithful attention to the <br />problems which Mr. Robinson has given. <br />It was voted to accept the resignation as of February <br />29, 1936. <br />A draft of a proposed by-law for billboards, as drawn <br />by the Massachusetts Billboard Law Defense, Committee, was <br />received from the Board of Selectmen and was discussed brief- <br />ly, Advice by the Town Counsel leads the Board to feel that <br />the present Lexington By -Laws provide ample protection to <br />the Town against over -intrusion of billboards and it is our <br />recommendation to the Board of Selectmen that no action be <br />taken at pre sent . <br />I <br />Meeting adjourned at 10:40 P.
