J
1
PLANNING BOARD'MEETING
February 13, 1935
A regular meeting of the Planning Board was bold in the
Conference Room of the Town Office Building on Wednesday, Feb-
ruary 13, 1935, at 8:00 P. M. Messrs. Duffy, Ellis, Greeley,
Kimball and Robinson were present.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
The matter of a hearing on Mrs. Kelleyfe petition for a
change in zoning was brought up, and the date of the hearing was
set for Wednesday, March 6, 19350 at SiOO P. M. in the,Seleetmen's
Room of the Town Office Building. The Clerk was instructed to
make arrangements for the necessary publicity.
It was reported that the State Highway -Department had
considered a new layout for Watertown Street. Upon consult-
ing Mr. Trask, it was learned that the State and County
Engineers had proposed a relocation involving lees change in
alignment than the straight proposals that this new proposal
had the advantages of less interference with the Belmont
Springs Country Club property, and of intersecting the new
Highway at a nearly level stretch of the highway; that the
Town had not seen any maps of this proposal, and the Select-
men would not favor it until it had been presented to them
in more detail.
There seemed to be some doubt if the Town would grant
the Board the $300.00 desired for Engineering Services, and
the opinion of the Board was that such services were necessary
even if they had to be contributed by the Engineering Depart-
ment.
The Board expressed the opinion that, in order to dis-
cuss intelligently the Clematis Brook situation, it was
necessary to have some proposals on a map, as well as some
indication of the topography of the area. It was further
pointed out that the treatment of the brook would have to
be subordinated to the general development of that area.
With this in mind, Messrs. Kimball and Greeley offered to
put some proposals on an 800-soale map of the Town, present
them to the Board, and then ask the Engineering Department
to draw up the suggestions of the Board for further delibera-
tion.
The meeting was adjourned about 10:45 Pe M.
Respectfully submitted,
Roland B. Greeley (Signed)
Clerk
Kelley
Petition
Watertown
Street
Clematis
.,
